Hankook V12 Evo?
Interesting article in the Aug 2009 issue of R&T (no idea why they say it's Aug when it arrived in late June) testing a bunch of "affordable summer tires" and comparing them with the PS2 as the "Benchmark". The Hankook Ventus V12 EVO came in second place overall in the group of affordable tires and had better dry performance than the PS2 in both the autocross and braking tests. In wet conditions, the Hankooks had better braking distance and just slightly slower performance in the autocross test compared to the PS2.
I don't mind spending more for a high quality and high performance tire, but at $203 for a 275/35R19, and given the C&D test results, it's hard to justify the PS2 if the Hankooks are reliable. http://www.discounttiredirect.com/di...w=false&cs=275 Has anyone tried these tires or have any thoughts about the general quality/reliability of Hankook tires? In case you're wondering, the first place tire in the comparison test was the Dunlop Star Spec, but I don't believe those tires come in a size that fits our 19" wheels. |

I still loved mine when I sold them to my buddy. He isn't so sure they grip better than the PS2s, but I felt they did.
