Nice write up. It's the best experience of my life as well. Best vacation by far. I almost can't wait for my car to get older so I can do this again for my next M car! Was the most majestic experience EVER!!!! Can't highly recommend potential buyers enough to do this!

Such a sad day when the trip comes to an end and saying goodbye for 2 months

How was the ring??...I still can't beleive it was closed when I got there
I drove the ring immediately after a thunderstorm on the 19th of May. A lot of the cars had gone due to the heavy rain but I stuck around and went out later in very light traffic. It was a lot of fun. Quite wet still and I only had 600 km on the car so I was driving a bit slow. The PS2s are a pretty good rain tire.

Love the last pic. My wife and kids have been telling me the car has taken priority over them though I know it's not true. I had to show my wife this pic it gave me such a chuckle. All she said was, "Uh huh."

I did PCD and loved the experience. Looks like ED is even better. Guess I'll have to do that some day.

I've been to Europe a lot on business but never to the Alps. That's definitely on my bucket list. With 3 days in Paris you scratched the surface. I've spent a total of about two months there and love the city. Some of the back street restaurants are the best part of the city. Montmartre is a nice area too.

My wife feels the same way..she just needs to get used to it
Go for ED next time if you can...you won't regret it!

This may sound like a dumb question.. but can you do an ED for any new BMW model, or just ///M cars? I just ask because I haven't seen any posts about a non-///M ED

awesome thread man, just awesome! congrats on the purchase.

love ur route. wife & i are going to ED in Sept too to pick up her early birthday present. we also consider drive to Paris but since we just went to Bern 3 months ago so maybe we will be heading east this time instead. so far we're planning to Austria (Wien) first then head to Czech Republic (Prague). we also plan to go to Frankfurt for the autoshow. i'm not sure how she'll like the ''Ring'' idea but i'll just keep trying to make it happen.

They do this per agreement with the local building and fire authorities for safety reasons.
