Idle fluctuating problem
So here is the story...
There's like a whistle sound coming out of my engine bay constantly. So I took my car to the dealership to check it , they said there was no error code at all. However, sometimes the idling fluctuated really bad when I filled up the full tank, and the engine was even shut off because of the rough idle. Once I restarted it , everything works fine. It happened 4-5 times in total, but not always. One of my friend who worked in dealership said it could be the idle valve problem or the gas quality. But if the idle valve failed, the idling gonna be rough all the time. Like I said, it only happened when I fill it up. Does anyone have any idea about that? |

Try to start the car without AC running and see if the idle problem goes away. Mine does. If not, maybe check the ICV

if its fluctuating between 600-800 usually normal... try switching different gas location... also i sometimes usually add the techron additive to help. BMW does sell the techron or just buy it at pepboys location usually cheaper..
BUT if your idle fluctuates all the way down between 400-500 it could be just gas or in my case it was my low fuel pressure sensor... i believe this was a case of putting a bad gas... with gas i only put Chevron, sometimes Shell if i have no choice but 95% since 2008 ive only put chevron on my car...
