Dude, if you are nice about it and have a good relationship with your service advisor things can happen for you. BMW can be very fair when it comes to good will issues, it also helps if you own more than one bimmer.

I don't agree with that. I replaced exactly 1 coil on my E36 a year ago and the other 5 are all still going strong.

agreed but yes the the dealer will have to fix the issue no matter what since the issue were so close to each other. Since they did not resolve the issue in the beggining and after 50 miles the other one crapped out they have to fix that issue. GOOD WILL MY ASS.

although i dont agree with replacing all 8 coils if the others are good.

If you gotta fix something once and then it breaks again, will you do the same fix as you did the first time? I think it is right and correct to fix the problem the second time using more preventative measures.

I bought the extended maintenance warranty for $2,999, it covers brakes and oil and other serviceable items, including 1 free clutch disk.

the extended warranty is about $6,000-$7,000 for a e92 m3

If one coil craps out that soon, it's likely the entire batch could be bad. I'd have pushed for all of them getting replaced. Whether you get them or not, it's a different story, but doesn't hurt to try

. And no, I wouldn't expect to get them all replaced; I fully understand how warranty works. Heck, people with bad springs, which requires major work to get at, only get the bad ones replaced, so I don't expect a coil that gets 5 minutes to get preventatively replaced.

What are these bad springs you speak of? How is that even possible?

He's talking about bad valvesprings. And replacing those is a very labor intensive job.
