rs-19 vs carbotech rp2

seems like im smoking thru the pagids. anyone used both of these and have an opinion on which is better. see the rp2s have high MOT by a wide margin and are cheaper.

i can't speak for the rp2, but i run carbotech xp10 on my 350z with brembos and they tend to last at least 5 track days. each day being approx 5 sessions pushing for about 20-25 min. i really like these brake pads.

okay thanks. looking for a pad that works well at the track and lasts me a while. was running ferodo ds2500s for a while but went thru in a day or 2 and now seem to be having same issue with rs19. used half my fronts in single day.

Perhaps it's time to upgrade to a BBK

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

Richard does that imply that having a BBK reduces pad wear? Given the same driver (aggressive advanced driver at the track) ?

I would say that BBKs typically use bigger pads and run at a cooler temperature. Both of which help reduce wear.

A few questions...
- do you get even wear on the pads, front to back and side to side
- are you experiencing fade at some point?

I just bought another set of Pagids from a forum member because they've served me reasonably well. But I do get fade if I push really hard at tracks like VIR, and I mean really hard. I think my next mod is going to be redirecting air from the ducts to the rotors, in the manner of the GT3 air blade attached to the lower control arm.

I just cannot bring myself to pay 10% of the cost of the car on a BBK. Might be tempted to switch to a different car, a used 911 or Cayman S/R perhaps.

I'm getting remarkably even wear front to back. I know it sounds silly, but I am wondering if springs with a big fwd rake can contribute.

Anyway, I was trying to ask you a different question, but phrased it incorrectly. For each pad, is the wear pattern parallel to the backing plate? Or is one side of the pad wearing faster than the other?

I spend a lot less on brake pads now after putting on a front BBK. I was spending a pretty penny running pagids on stock brakes.

Fronts now last me 5-8 track days, compared to maybe 2 days with pagid yellows.

Yes my wear is pretty even. Maybe slight variation front to back last time on my rear pads.
