need help choosing case for my pc

hello there. I need a new case for my pc and kind of in a tiht budget here so under 200$ would be fine.anyone here got some idea where to buy one with a good quality?I did found one in south-pak . com and it's beautiful. But I just don't have any idea on buying it online and stuff. What do you think? And also, would it be possible if I'll be like painting the case? Just to make it more like personalized and design it on my own.

Do you want a mid-tower or full tower? ATX is the way to go as most mobo's and other parts use the ATX standard size.

Antec is a good company, so is Cooler Master.

My 2 prefered Mid-Tower cases right now are below.

Cooler Master Storm Scout: $79
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811119196

Antec 902: $109
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811129097

For Buying online, Newegg is probably your safest bet with the best Customer Service and decent pricing. If you have a Fry's Electronics locally you can sometimes find better deals on cases in their Brick and Mortar shops. But not always.

As for painting... that will probably have to be a custom job done by a paint shop.

I've always gone with CoolerMaster, specifically the CM690, COSMOS S, and the HAF.

The CM690 is good if you're trying to keep the size somewhat down while still provide plenty of space and air cooling, while the COSMOS S and HAF have space for the 3x120 radiators if you're going to do serious WC.

However, I have not shopped for cases since the new sizes came out (X-ATX is it?) so if you're looking for one of those, I'm not sure what to suggest but I'm pretty sure the HAF can accommodate it due to the fact that it's got space on the top and bottom for the PS.

I have the Silverston Raven 2 and it is big and mounts the Mobo so that the GPU mounts vertical and there is more than enough room in it for any card plus it has a glass side window.

I should mention that full ATX towers like some poeple are recommending are very large. VERY LARGE. And the good ones (Steel Frame) are heavy.

So if you end up going with one, just be aware they aren't the most mobile things.

I've never heard of a X-ATX sized motherboard.

That's because it's called EATX for Extended ATX. Couldn't remember the exact acronym off the top of my head (hence the wording as a question with not only one, but two question marks following).

No worries. I thought maybe you had heard of some new standard size to take care of the problem with longer and longer graphics cards.

I think E-ATX is longer in the height dimension not width though.

Yeah it's just longer in length and I think you might be able to drop a double PCIe x16 off the bottom. Width is exactly the same.

+1

the HAF is the way to go. For the price, you get amazing cooling plus you can have a lot of options when it comes to cooling. You can have a ton of small fans, or have big fans, or have water cooling. The case is setup for all those cooling options, plus it looks pretty cool.
