Does anybody here have a CF wing on their CF trunk?

Looking into a Varis wing to put on my car, which has a Vorsteiner double sided trunk. Does anybody on the forums have a wing (Voltex, etc) mounted on a FRP or CF trunk?

Any feedback would be appreciated!

I would be concerned about the trunk cracking. If you use a Varis wing for what it is designed for, it will put a tremendous amount of force on the trunk.

that's true, and that was what i was afraid of. unless i do a fair bit of reinforcing underneath...

*sigh* it'll just look better imo, but then again, i would hate to drill into the cf trunk only to have it crack under pressure from the wing

Hmm. I haven't seen a Varis wing on a vorsteiner trunk yet.

I have a Varis wing on my Challenge OE style CF/Kevlar trunk. The body shop I used did a clever job of both bolting and bonding the Varis mounts to the CF trunk. I have tracked with it twice and have driven 5K miles with no cracking or other issues.

That's good to hear! Love the look. Did you by chance know what bonding agent they used? I have BMW bond that I could use perhaps.

I cannot be certain but I am about 90% sure its beta-link or a bet-link like product. Same stuff BMW uses.
