Dealers are definitely going to try and get MSRP if not OVER MSRP for these "special" cars... Could probably be cheaper to order a loaded 2011, pay $5k for FG and still get it at $1,500 over invoice.

Thank you. If it's a mild scratch in a small area, you can lightly sand and bearly use a heavy non-abrasive polish--bearly. That's about it. Anything deeper needs refinishing

I only know it from the Internet, but the frozen gray body fits the car best, IMO.

No such thing. If it's not abrasive it's not a polish.

Always excited to see someone else happy and excited, but I'm scratching my head about this paint. Of course, judgement should be reserved until seen in person, but right now it looks like high-end primer.

I saw the car in person at BMW NA HQ last Friday. It looks nice. I am lukewarm on the paint, but I love the competition wheels. I think I need a set.

Not saying you are wrong, but that's not what has been said in the past by people who have placed Individual orders and inquired about this color. Do you mind sharing how you know about the availability of this color?

In any case, if you are correct, we should see some members placing FG Individual orders very soon.

you actually can not get frozen grey in the USA for 5k the same way you can get other individual colors.

I have a Brilliant white m3 coming with the special black and white interior.

Frozen grey also takes a lot to maintain> DEFENITELY NOT WORTH DOING.

BMW's marketing is hilarious... Add a little red leather, paint it with the FG Individual color and call it a "special edition" - pretty retarded for an anniversary car.

They should have done some really and truly unique to these "exclusive" models that set them apart from the rest of the gang, not just a matte color anyone can order...

Anyone can order a FG car, they just have to pay $5k.

It's nice, but not to my taste, a car should be metallic - you want a matte color, vinyl wrap your car for $1k and still have the luxury of a metallic car.

I've also heard that this paint is a pain to deal with, the coat is fragile, something along those lines... I wonder if this is true...

Good luck!
Not to take away the thunder from the OP, but I agree with the quoted post.

So maybe you can help answer my question then - where did you get info about the availability of the FG paint through Individual in the US? Can you provide a source so that others might order the color?

I merely agreed with kaykay. In terms of ordering, please ask your CA. I have a great CA that I work...Irv at Motorwerks.

I suggest people talk to someone who owns a C63 with the flat silver paint. AMG has been doing this for the past couple years, in black, silver and pearl white.

I'd be curious to ask one of those owners how the paint holds up before passing judgement. I know the flat black gets dirty very easily, silver may hold up better.
