License Plate holder 228i front

I am waiting for my new plates. I had the black braket installed into front bumper...(can't take chance). It appears that the DEALER license plate frame temporarily screwed onto the braket (until I get my plates) is a bit smaller around the perimeter than the bracket themselves.
Obviously, when I get my steel thin frames put on with my new plates, their will be a slight black border around the plate frame as the braket seems to be a touch larger. Not a good look at all , it appears to me. What can be done,,, if anything to trim the black bracket to meet the smaller perimeter around the steel frame and plates it will hold???
thanks
