that's one thing the E30 was better at!

I used to leave the fogs blazing all the time, but now that I have to push a button to turn them on I leave them off a ton.

funny how a tiny thing like making you press a button will stop you from using them....... (damn I'm lazy)

I really hope you didn't take that seriously.

Not a dumb question at all. BTW, your car must THUMP with all that JL equipment. Nice choice!

That is annoying. I figured BMW would change it when the E90 came out. I've lived with it for 3 years on my E46.

I'm fairly sure that you need to hit the button every time.

Its def possible to hack it so they both turn on automatically... but youd have to look in to how to do that. And I prob wouldnt recommend it either.

I don't know about other countries, but it is not an issue in the states. I have 2 Fords that allow the fogs to come on with the headlights.

this is the most annoying quirk of the car for me ..

i wanna just flip the headlights to auto and never touch them again. why do i have to hit the fog button everytime?

had this problem with my '02 is300 - simple wire in the fusebox resolved

anyone working on a solution to this?

I'll admit that I would like the fog lamp setting to be persistent too. However I don't leave my headlamps set to automatic typically because most of the time I leave the garage in daylight and don't want the headlamps to come on at that time.

I think any wiring guru will be able to tap into wires and somehow make them turn on everytime the headlight is on.

And you guys aren't alone. its annoying as hell. I rarely use foglights.

All it would take is a jumper wire in the fuse box from the low beam fuses to the fog fuses....

They would only be powered when your headlights are powered

You may be underestimating howmuch monitoring the computer in the electric junction box does on the lights

Dont think the system would like the extra current draw
