People can be so critical. Everyone at the track is better than the other person, you know? In reality, sure 18s are more appropriate for the track than 19s but in the end everyone is meeting to share a common interest with one another. I do not understand the "haters" either. I say, if you're there, you already have something in common so rather than being critical, look at the fact you have similar interests, offer suggestions and make friends.

It's not haters...just friendly folk who like to poke fun.

So where do you run? Ive tried to get in on weekend track days with my 135i vert. Nobody allows me to run just because of the fact that the car is a drop top.

Hi,

Brake fade always. Even if you are having fun and not concerned about lap times I would suggest flushing the system with Motul 600 or 660. It's cheap, quick and will help your brake system to resist fade. You can also use it for daily driving without a problem.

I'm curious though. What kind of problems are you referring to (first post)?
Brake fatigue only?

I'm using a different approach. I've bought a second set of OEM wheels (19") and will track the car without any mods. Brakes should be a problem, but I'm aiming at having fun and not lap times. Hence the OEM tires. Slicks are faster but less fun!

Hi,

Yes exactly. They recommended those and Autoscope in Dallas installed them and did all the testing for tire clearance and I only use the spacers when I have the track wheels on. Probably going with StopTech early Spring when the season fires up again, only on the front though.

Unless I missed it, what brake package did you decide to go with?

Lastly, don't let any flack here defer you from posting opinions. A lot of us are interested in whats happening with this car on the track. Continue to sing out.

This is really odd becuase all the people I have met at the track (and I mean everyone) is very nice and even though it's very competitive, people share info, share tools and are very helpful and friendly regardless of what you drive. People might talk smack with their friends but the events I go to are very well managed and aholes are smacked down quick. This group of guys seems to have a very low tolerance for trouble makers and people are just nice to one another, regardless of what you're driving.

I'm sure there are lots of good people here but the haters are on the prowl.

I repeat...

THIS IS NOT A DEDICATED TRACK CAR !

I drive it to work everyday, my wife, dog and I go cruising with the top down when the weather is nice. I track it because aside from a few hundred extra pounds, it kicks ass as a track car, top up or down. Which part of that doesn't make sense?

I'm running close to 2min laps at TWS which is VERY respectable so how about cuttimg me some slack?
+1000...hence the word WEEKEND in your title!

Nice write-up, thanks for the information sharing. Let us know when you figure out a good and resonable caliper to put up front...

forget the "vert isnt a track car" comments...99% of the people on here dont even track their cars so who are they to tell you it isnt suitable for the track!

enjoy the car on the street, track, snow, w/e you want...its YOUR car
