An intelligent and skilled observer. Though I totally agree with your opinion I will concede that either option be it the 18" or 19" have their compromises, with the 18s it's the looks which some find understated and small in size while with the 19s it's the ride (on poor surfaces) and steering feel. I suppose it all down to which compromise concerns you most.

it's kind of funny how as of now, there have been over 1,000 views, but only 188 have voted. so I guess the majority don't have opinions? (i realize many of the views may be visitors)

+1 And at that point it'll probably mess up the handling.

It all depends on whether you are looking for the NASCAR racer look or the upwardly mobile stock market dealer look.

The NASCAR racer look . . .?

You need to get out more.

I think you misunderstood the remark and took it literally. My comment referred to the dark alloys and the higher side wall.

whatever you meant, but an M3 is not a Nascar and nor would I want any car I drive to look like a Nascar. Big sidewalls are gross on a sports car.

I have 18" wheels because I like the way they ride better, but the 19" painted matte black looks sick! So my vote is for 19" painted.

I had to go w/ the 19s on my JP Sedan...Understand the ride quality issue, esp. here in LA. I get comments that the car feels "tight" from passengers, but the road feel and ride quality is part of the M car purpose and when I'm driving on rough roads I should want to feel what's going on. On smooth roads, such as the resurfaced PCH and many others the 19s drive like a dream...

How about 19's? I am actually trying to locate a set with the correct offset. I think it would look awesome while retaining the stock look! I just can't get over the shiney polished look of the stock 19's....

NOW, that looks good. Because they are bigger. The style and color in 18s does NOT work. But if they were 19s or 20s (20s preferabley). Thats HAWWWTT!!

See, that's the funny thing. I think the pic with the 18s looks better. Call me crazy. But then, I don't really care ultimately. I have the car *I* want.

What others get or prefer is irrelevant to me. On a semi-related note, that's the reason I find all the bitter argument in threads about M3 vs <insert car> baffling.

I actually wish they made the 18's in 19" size but forged of course. I am sold if they ever do.
