The ZCP package seems like money not well spent! For $2500.00 you could get Bilsteins PSS10 or KW V3. So you get heavy rims with stretched tires 10mm lowered and some electronic gizmos that are made for beginner drivers?

+1
i agree... the ZCP package is definitely not worth while. i'd get the regular m3 and just save the cash for mods.

Let me know what you think.
Surely it's worth it for the drop. I am assuming a 1.2" drop at the front, not .4"

The ZCP shocks have .4" lower spring platforms, so the Eibachs will lower it a further .8" making the total drop 1.2"

I am not sure that all 0.4" is from the lower spring perch on the strut..... but definitely some of it. Apparently the springs are slightly shorter too.

I guess time will tell what the total drop will be with them installed if I decide to install them.

If you do go ahead with this it would be great if you could actually measure the platform height from a common ref point as well as the springs at their free length.

I would definitely do this........ Give me the reference point to measure from on the strut.

I am actually leaning to installing them again because I feel the car will look unfinished if it is not lowered...... The OEM stance of the ZCP suspension in person will be the final decider for me.

Unless you are currently a pro racer, the gizmos are for you

I have never understood why someone would purchase a performance car and sacrifice its performance for looks. Why not buy a 3 series and save all that money so you can drop it to the ground and put 20+ sized wheels on there, a huge spoiler, a coffee can sized exhaust, a pair of JL 13's in the trunk and still have money left over for a 40 or two to impress the bitches... but then again, who cares what anyone else thinks. Its your money, its your car, do what makes you happy.

I have the comp pack and am lowered on B&G springs. Looks much better and rides like stock. Did this last year summer so the springs had lots of time to settle. Still no complaints or rubbing issues at all.

I have a ZCP on order and might do a KW SLeeve Over kit if I really want it to look a tad lower. My car is black so the gap will sliiiiightly be less noticeable

Who said performance is sacrificed by lowering? If you think so, you must know more than the suspension companies.

I am definitely putting a set of springs on my ZCP.

BMRLVR,

Based on our conversation at the M meet in Calgary you sound like you have both the knowledge and the tools available to do this job yourself. I would install them, drive it and judge how big of a difference it makes. Worst case scenario is having to remove them and re-install the stock springs.
Your car looks great with or without so good luck and post some pictures up if you decide to drop.

Correct, unless you bought crappy springs. the height does not change.

This is a really old thread..... I posted it before I had taken delivery of my car.

I did lower my car on the Eibachs about a week after I bought it when it had only 750KM on it and have been running them ever since.... When you saw my car it was dropped!
