Why wont my car leave the VPC

My 11 e90 m3 rolled into port of Brunswick 4/18, the bmw tracking site moved to at VPC last 4/21, I called the dealer to ask when my car would be at the dealer I was told it would probably be at the dealership Wednesday 4/26 and ready to pick up Thursday 4/27. Well the car never showed up. I called him thursday and friday to see where it was at, he said that the transport company had changed to a new company and that bavarian transport which normally picked up cars in a day or two after being clear from the VPC, The new company takes longer to pick up the cars. I also inquired if the car had been damaged in shipping, he said "in two years ive worked here only 2 cars had been damaged "and that my car was ok. Am I being lied too? So im wondering its going on 2 weeks at the port. What is Goin On????

I am in the same situation. Car landed in San Diego on the 23rd. I was told by the dealer that the car was scheduled to ship today but, was just informed that it probably did not ship. The odd thing is my brother ordered a Mini Cooper which was shipped on the same boat as my car. His car was delivered to the dealer ( which is next door to the bmw dealer ) Wednesday the 27th.

Read the sticky about the VPC. Cars with minor issues are dealt with there and the dealer will certainly never tell you there was any damage. Not to say that this is a terrible thing since the car should still pass your complete inspection upon delivery. Might be worth a close look over when you get it though.

Does anyone know how common it really is that there is minor damage to the car during shipping?

It happens a lot actually. The dealer telling you about it, rarely the case.

What's up

Relax, it's probably fine. BMW doesn't have the same anxiety that you do about your car.

Thanks for the info...
Not to sound stupid, but there is no VPC at each port is there?
Do they cars consolidate into a VPC for all of the USA East Coast?

So I got a call today from my sales rep. I guess the ZCP wheel got damaged in transport!!!! and the worst part is that the wheel is on back order internationally for up to a month. So it could be a week, could be a month This sucks

Tony....don't know if wheel availability changes that much in a short period of time or if just rear wheels are easier to get, but as a point of reference I ordered 2 rear ZCP wheels on 4/13 and they where shipped to me on 4/18. If a wheel is damaged my next question would be what else is?

You think so I'm kinda pissed the dealer is lying to me. I think I'm going to get my deposit back. I went and drove a c63 today and enjoyed it. But its still not a M IMO. The mercedes dealer was super nice, the manager came out and introduced him self. 10x better customer service than this pos BMW dealer around here.

Go to another BMW dealer, they're not all created equal.

Believe me, there are some crappy MB dealers as well.

Definitely get the car you really want.

called them to get the deposit back, they are assuring me that it is just the wheel, and that they would have written report by the end of the day. We will see, but a month for that wheel is BS.
