What kind of iPod? And are you referring to the battery dying? Because the car doesnt turn the iPod off when you park it.

Did apple verify that they're actually dead? I've had mine freeze probably a dozen times in the year and a half I've had my car but never totally dead.

So the battery is dying, thats common because the car doesnt turn the iPod itself off. I dont know what kind of iPod you have, but there was a recent update that went out for the new iPod Nano that allows you to turn off the device completely when holding the main button.

I would recommend turning off the iPod when the car is left parked for several hours.

I've been having the same problem you experienced. My iPod will eventually lose all of its charge after being in the car for a couple of weeks. I had the dealer check and he verified that it's being charged while hooked up to the car, so it appears not to be a charging issue. I think that the iPod stays on after the car is shut off, and loses a bit of charge each time. If the amount of charge loss exceeds amount of charge provided by the car, the battery will eventually die. I do a lot of frequent short trips (I live 4 mi from work), so perhaps there isn't enough charge time to keep up with losses.

Anyone else encounter this problem?
