Best gear and speed for greatest acceleration

Ok guys I am showing my new car off to my other car club tomorrow night. What is the best speed/gear combo to really take off. My buddies all have BUILT LS1's in F bodies and Vettes. I know I am not going to beat them in a straight line, but we are all doing a cruise to meet for dinner and I know we will be cruising together and I'm sure they are gonna mess with me to see what this toy has. I will be on public roads so I am not looking to speed at 150MPH but a quick rev and go may be provoked. I have a 09 6 speed E92 so what do you all recommend since I am new to the car. Thanks for the input.

The lowest gear that leaves you room to accelerate.

Keep it ALWAYS above 4000RPM and you should be fine.

Funny question. If you're on the road at normal speed, it will typically be 2nd or 3rd. If you slow down enough and need to go into first, try double clutching for a smoother shift.

Start at 5500ish rpm in second gear between 50-60 mph.......

......its definetly a sweet spot.....I have DCT, but make sure you get the shift from 2-3 down nice.

On paper, you'll see max torque is at 3800 rpm, but it doesn't really mean much if you don't look at the torque curve. The reason why everyone is saying you're good at any rpm past 4000 (or 3800 for that matter) is because your torque is fairly constant from there on up to the red line.

Whether you're shifting up or down, this car makes it very easy to stay in that power band. Go ahead and let the revs rip!

Not sure what other do with DCT, but if I'm in manual mode and cruising around in 6th or 7th then suddenly need to accelerate quickly, I tap the gear know to the right for auto mode and press the throttle. With the next gear change, I'm back in manual mode.

It sure beats multiple pulls on the paddle to get into 3rd or so.

I would qiuckly depress the clutch and blip the throtle and watch the other guy take off by himself. Then tell him later that you don't street race!

Thumbs up Hmmm

For my 6MT I like to use 2nd and then 3rd because the sound of my Gintani Race exhaust with AA catless X-pipe... along with the acceleration from my OE custom Tune is pure Sex

There is a faster way. Hold the (-) paddle and 'pedal to the metal' (push past the accelerator resistance point) at the same time - that will put you in the lowest gear possible. I like this way better, as I don't have to deal with switching to auto or back.
