Question When are you going to PCD Spartanburg?

Hi All,

Just wondering when you guys going to Spartanburg.

I ordered my M3/E90 in May, was on the Don Juan, arrived July 4.
The PCD will not be until August 7 in my case. That's 5 weeks!!

I hope PCD will be worth the wait.

A.

How long are we going to be on the track? What speeds did you get?

Thanks.

painter's tape (blue tape)for your car on your drive back home ( i use a clear wood flr tape).... honestly I lost track of the time...but my guess is about two hrs in the track or should i say mini track, you'll do some slalom, braking and sliding in a wet..1 hr for the delivery of your car, 30 min x5 driving experience, 1 1/2 hr plant tour and 10 min in an M5 with a pro.. 1 more, thing, make sure your CA request the mat few weeks before delivery, mine didn't, he said i will get a universal one and will have the M3 mat waiting here in NY...pick up one at a local target....

I didn't watch the speedometer, but guess you get up to 80 or so on the the track. You use a small section of they track that's setup like an autocross. M-dynamic mode is enabled, so you can get the tail to drift out when you're exiting the turns.

You're on the track for about 2+ hours. Braking, Auto cross, Skid pad

There are a number of writeup over here:
http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=136

mine's here (towards the bottom):
http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=298968

I brought point&shoot camera for in-car photos, and dslr for delivery photos

Hey guys, I just saw your thread (I had just started one last night): I will be doing my PCD on the 7th too!!!
I will also be driving back to NJ...but the long way. I figured I would use this opportunity to visit SC, NC, VA, MD, DC, PA and home.

By the way, where from are you in Europe?? Not too many Peugeot 206 around here...

And what about the BMW 120d (diesel...)
I think diesels are awesome, got a 25mpg while drive 140mph on the Autobahn... I'm originally from Holland (Amsterdam) and mostly found on the German Autobahn...

Live in NYC now. I think I will try the Skyline Drive in Virginia on the way home...

Yeah, I had seen the 120d, but thought that the Peugeot was even more special around here. Anyhow, I agree with you, the diesel engines are really fuel efficient, but IMO they lack extended RPM range for fun driving.
Hope you will be able to sleep (a little bit at least) the days before Thursdays, otherwise you might end up in the gravel at the end of the first straight line on the course!!
Have all a great week and trip down to SC and see you on the 7th in the morning!

That's why I drove a Porsche next to it...

But I must say that the M3 has only 10% more torque than the 120d and expect the 335d to have 50%more torque, you can smoke regular gas cars with a 40-60mph acceleration easily!! The down side is that you lose a lot of hp on swifting to a higher gear...

But still loved the car doing an average of 50mpg highway.

See you the 7th!

PS: hope not to end up in the sand...
