Good luck with the project! I'd love to convert my E91 with the full M3 drivetrain but leave all the body work OEM E91.
Thanks! I remember seeing this one when it was started, good to see the rear OEM style solution turned out looking that good! This, as well as several of the others that were converted were definitely the inspiration behind mine, really looking forward to finishing the exterior this winter.

There are a few fluid coolers from the M3 that might make it tough to retrofit just the Drivetrain, but I'm sure its possible with time.

Its a fun build. Photobucket killed my thread. When I have time I'll repost the pictures. There was a lot of info in there. I'm hoping to move from the ESS SC kit to bigger and better things . Jelly that you have a red one. Best of luck.

Here's a shameless pic:

Your car looks fantastic mate! It is truly an inspiration! If you have any info on what you did for the rear fenders and wouldn't mind sharing, I'd love to know your opinions on your solution.

Any advice would be most welcome!!

Wheel choices

Updates:

Picked up two options for rims -

Option 1: Turner Motorsports had a spare set of 3- piece Forgelines from their GS racecar....

Which I had Powder-coated....

came with titanium hardware...

OR....

These Bad boys....

Absolutely Love APEX ARC-8s, have run them on the 2008 M3 as well - They are so light and Strong!

Will probably run both at some point, but still a few other projects away from installing.

E90 m3 Mirrors are next...

I vote Apex, but then again we all love a poll. Would be cool if you started one and let the members weigh in. But seriously thank you for sharing this build, it's definitely a winner.

I was really feeling that red in the first few pictures! Still looks great nonetheless.

Also use Imgur for image hosting and saving, its what I use. As long as you don't submit to usersub it stays private unless you post the link

the color is European taxi cab beige, the car just got the 1/4 panels and rear m3 bumper done so it'll be getting a full color change soon. Will be going for a N54 single turbo swap. I had a e92 m3 supercharged before and wasn't very happy with ALL THAT TORQUE.. lol

Somehow I’m happy it’s just the body work— it would be sad if the s65 was saddled by ruined handling from your cosmetic ride height.

Was it the one that got rear ended a couple months ago?
It was obioban. He just posted above in this thread. I didn't compare the two vehicles but I'm assuming there are similarities. Correct me if this is not accurate.

Love to see these builds
The hardest part is buying all your parts as you go because there’s quite a few different brackets and fixings.
With my build it was a full M3 swop everything and I bought a damaged m3 so I everything to swop or at least know what’s what.

Just wanted to join the party!

@63np build was the one that inspired me to build the first US wagon. That one is now in Texas but I have a N54 swapped E91 widebody now

Joining the party as well! I am also moving forward with e91 M3 conversion. Currently searching for a decent donor but doing the exterior conversion as we speak. I won't be OEM as I really like the M-Sport rear with the M3 style quad diffuser. I will be doing the quarters though. Also depending on the right deal, will source M3 donor or 335is for the drivetrain only. I am also sticking with keeping color Deep Sea Blue as it's probably my favorite I've owned.

Just curious about a few items while my shop receives all the parts. Did you guys need to swap the washer reservoir for the fenders? I know the rep fenders need one but wasn't sure if I would with the wider OEM fenders?

I've got the radiator support, bumper support, all the brackets for those two and this list from NYBulldog thread for the fender brackets.

Besides the new headlight arms what other brackets am I missing? Just want to make sure I have everything before they start.

You don't need a new reservoir tank. We made my OEM non-M one work with just a little bit of the heat gun to form it. I have an M3 one too, honestly a waste of money. There is a small bracket that meets up with the fender, bumper and headlights. You need those too.
