Smile CF leather trim quality?

for any E92 owners who have opted for the CF leather trim, I got a question. is the trim any good? quality and looks wise?, I've only seen it on a Z4M and frankley it didnt impress, i sortof figured maybe in the E92 it might look classy.

There are plenty of pics on the pics subsection of this forum as well as some pics of awesomem3's car on this thread: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=123973

I've seen it in person and like it but like most things it's subjective.

I saw it in person and thought it was beautifullly executed. It also contrasted very nicely against the tan and red interiors on the cars I saw. I'm getting aluminum on mine, so I'm not shilling for CF...

I like the Carbon Leather over Aluminum with a black interior. That's just me though.

I saw Carbon Leather for the first time on the M3 and I thought it did not suit the $65-70k price tag of the car. No offense to anyone, but I thought it looked somewhat chintzy. I would/will go with the Sycamore trim.

It looks great to me. Real leather vs plastic pieces colored to look like metal or wood - it's a no brainer.

That's an interesting point if it's true. Since when were the Aluminum or the Sycamore Anthracite trim deemed plastic pieces? All the advertising materials from BMW describe them as either aluminum or wood. Additionally, from the different pictures and perspectives on this board, the wood from car to car has been described as being different wood grains suggesting it was truly wood and not faux.

I saw the CF/leather trim the other day, it looks great to me, I'd probably get it. I don't like shiny or stand-out trim. The CF is just right.

THe aluminium is certainly metal. Its a metal face on a plastic base.

The only trim that is entirely made of plastic is Titanium shadow.

I went with CF in the end. I had aluminium in my old E46 M3, and although it looked good, I wanted a change. The aluminium has also being played out to death in the rest of the model range as well. One other thing, I found aluminium is really easy to scratch so be careful if you have rings, watch straps, or anything that could scratch the metal finish easily.

CF looks great to me. Especially with FR or black. Like the alum with gray or black.

The aluminum is not real aluminum. It is not allowed to be. If you wrecked your car and there was real aluminum, and it chipped/broke as a result of the crash, it would be EXTREMELY sharp and pretty much guarantee you would be getting lacerated severly.

It is plastic with an aluminum-type brush job.

At least, that is what I heard.
