memory lane

Back when I was growing up in southeast asia, I have seen a few of these creatures in houses. As a kid, I was very excited when i see one and would try to kill it (never been able to kill one). I wonder how all those years I managed to not get bitten once. Sure gives me the chill thinking about it now.

They are wood spider and can get much larger then a tarantula. But the one I have seen in houses back in southeast asia are the size of the turantula.

We found this guy at work in California last month. 3 inches from tip to tip - almost the size of a tarantula. They're everywhere...

I see red xs'

I heard that the troops in Iraq have to deal with desert spiders. Definitely much bigger then the wood spider I have seen. Yike, I am glad the US don't have these creatures.

It was more scared of us than we were of it. The lab manager trapped it in an overturned beaker and I came by and snapped a few pictures. I released it the next day in the woods behind my house.
