The biggest reason is you, the organization and the track double their liabilities if something happens. In most DE orgs from my observation, the intermediates present a unique challenge because that is where you usually have the biggest speed, skill, and experience gap between drivers...so it makes for some interesting moments.
I don't know of an organization that allows ride-alongs with non-instructors including autocrosses. You may want to check around and see who will let you and go that route.

There are many back in california who do. I think my experience was more often than not it was okay. I think obviously though with the beginners they didnt allow ride alongs.

This is one rule that will not change. I've covered this in great detail with you offline. If this doesn't fit your desire then I would suggest you find a different organization to track with..........Phil

The Driver's Edge is the only DE org in TX that I know of that allows advanced students to take passengers...and M club of course. PCA and BMWCCA are VERY strict about passengers. Most other orgs allow ride alongs with instructors only.

The Driver's Edge allows passengers only with approved Red Advanced students. Red in the driver's edge is mostly solo but you are very closely watched from afar because of past issues and certain privileges you have (pass with point by anywhere and allowed to take passengers). Driver's Edge keeps very good records on their drivers as well. So they take a lot of measures to reduce the risk of something happening. So far, nothing has happened and everyone for the most part plays nice. The passing anywhere is fantastic!

Although I've seen an org in the upper midwest which seems to allow passengers with intermediates and advanced students.

I see I owe you a point by ......man it looks like I was leaving some time on the table in a few corners. I can definitely carry more speed in a few spots. Next go around in our little game of tag, I'll be it and chase...........Phil

Is this classified as a passenger? Because I did check that option when I order my car from BMW...way better than BMW assist. If so, I have been out of regulation...

Man the calendar is full. The only way to get in would be to hope for a cancellation. And then we would have to round up 30 drivers really quick. Now we could set up a pre-pay situation and everyone pay now. Once an opening happens we take the slot. If someone can't make it we will give them a credit towards the next event. Let me know what you think and I'll go to work.......Phil

Phil, great event, very nice group. I really enjoyed it and really like to thank you all for putting it together, and Andrea for the invite

As Andrea told me at the time of the video, "let him pass and try to chase him, you'll learn a lot". I tried, but you're too quick for me maybe next time I'll get closer...

See you guys next time around !
