Wow! Those cars spent half their laps off-track! I didn't realize how forgiving the Glen can be! Seriously, if NASCAR made their season half road courses, I would be a huge fan - that race was fantastic!

In other series such as Formula 1 they take a grim view of anyone gaining an advantage by leaving the racetrack. In fact sebastian vettel was penalized very recently for the exact same thing. And lewis hamilton was stripped of a race victory back in 2008 also for the same infraction. And deliberately bumping your opponent out of the way is also a big no no. I guess nascar, being american, has less emphasis on courtesy and good behaviour and more about cowboyism and machismo.
