80k average for 2013 GT 500!!!
This is based on searches on autoblog, etc. There is no way i would pay this much for a Mustang, even though our cars costs as much. Am I being objective or subjective?

Just depends on what you want/like. I'm sure there are GT500 owners that think we are crazy for buying these underpowered German cars.

That's markup as they're new for this MY. Loaded at $60k is an absolute bargain for 650bhp with full factory warranty. 'Stangs aren't my kind of car, but I can't think of many other brand new cars costing less than 70 grand that would put bus lengths on an M3 in the 1/4....

This. And if you're a "Mustang guy", this car is your wet dream and $80k won't slow you down any more than someone who has $80k for an M3.

Well said, and I agree completely. My dad is a 'Vette-guy and his dream car is in the same range as the new M5. But, you couldn't get him away from the 'Vette if you tried.

never paid MSRP, much less MSRP + markup, for any car in my life. not about to start.
that said, i am super intrigued by the Shelby. i'm fine with waiting out the initial rush and then if i'm still interested, i'll see if people are ready to deal |

Thinking long-term, I suspect the Boss 302 or Shelby will be worth a lot more 25 years from now (vs. the M3). Therefore perhaps it is a better investment. But I would rather buy something to enjoy today vs. keep for value. |

Wow $80K is about what I paid for in total for my 2013 e92 M3 ZCP DCT that had a $76K MSRP plus all my mods which include an ESS 600 supercharger plus an Akra slip with catless mid pipe and a progressive meth system). So for $80K you can get a new M3 built exactly how you want with likely similar acceleration numbers, track capabilities much better daily drivability/looks/appeal and you aren't settling on anything....oh, except I guess the warranty. lol.

Lol... In Canada it's completely different. Before I ordered my 2013 M3 I went to a Ford dealership and negotiated 4k off MSRP for a new GT500. I told the sales guy I would wait till road tests came out and then decided on the M3 again in DCT and I absolutely love it. Feels so different from my 08 6MT M3. No regrets here

I don't understand why dealers think the 2013 shelby deserves a mark up. I believe Ford has said that they are going to make as many as people want therefore not limited production.

It is because there is a sucker born every minute. They know there are tards out there that will pay the premiums so they wait for them to come in and pounce on them. The rest of us have common sense and know it is a waste of money.

I feel sorry for the suckers that pay this. At the end of the year Ford will be offering X plan for these cars. Its like 2007 all over again when the GT500s first came out. To me I would take a Boss over the GT500, a better drivers car and put the left over money in my pocket.
I love Mustangs..never would I pay even MSRP for a GT500, fully loaded they are just under $70k. You can get a Boss for MSRP and have much better toy. Dave

Yeah... ~everywhere I've been, people make fun of their domestics, and think imports are more desirable. Many places in Europe included.
You should have seen what evo's went for in europe a few years back (in countries where it's not normally sold)... it was bananas. -scheherazade |
