Best netbooks under $400

Well, ideally under $400.

I've done a bit of research and it seems like the Asus and Samsung are on top...what do you guys think?

Oh, and it has to have Windows OS.

I was thinking of buying from Costco.

Run windows on your Mac, either natively, or in a VM. I use VirtualBox for this purpose.

i was going to pick up the HP mini 110 but ultimately it came down to battery life.

costco has a good deal on a 110 with 16gb ssd and ms office 07 for $350.

Get that, I bought one last week because I am currently on a week and a half long business trip and its amazing.

Its got the Atom with the faster FSB, Wireless N, bluetooth, pretty much top of the line as far as a netbook and under $400, just wish it had an SSD.
Make sure you buy 2 gigs of RAM, only has one memory slot.

As far as people saying netbooks are crap, they have their uses and if you are expecting to do a lot of multitasking well then good luck. But if you are somewhat computer knowledgeable and you can tweak windows to optimize the page file, turn off all of the unneeded visuals and other random tweaks the thing will perform really good.
I have yet to cap my memory or CPU usage doing my every day busies stuff on this netbook.

Oh, most important part, with a good power profile I can get an easy 8-9 hours of batter life out of the thing.

Did some research on the 1005HA-P vs 1000HE, pretty much the same thing. A couple of minor differences, like the hard drive is not as accessible on the 1005HA due to the smaller size. But either way go with one of those Asus units and you'll be happy.

Still glad I got the 1000HE, almost thought I bought an older model after seeing a couple of guys mention the 1005
