Need help with Bamboo Beige leather please
Hi all,
Just purchased my E92 M3. The car is an 08 and has 60k miles on it. The car in my opinion is in great shape! However, I've got a few issues with the driver seat. These pictures were taken in my garage so I hope it shows up properly. I want to see if you guys have any hints on how to fix this, or at least maintain it the best I can. I don't expect the issue to be 100% solved, but let's see what we can do: Issue 1: Leather seems to be stretched. Issue 2: Wear on the bolster. Anyway I can improve this? Shows up because it's a lighter color than Bamboo Beige obviously. I tried Chemical Guys cleaner and conditioner with limited success. Any help from you detailing gurus would be much appreciated!

Kinda hard to tell from the pics but seats look pretty clean. Your leather has normal wear and looks great for 60k can't really fix those issues

1. Wrinkle’s - similar to a paints clear coat, upholstery urethane is classified as a semi-solid permeable membrane, being a thermosetting polymer (elastomers) it remains flexible while retaining its tensile strength, to enable it to expand and contract, following the temperature fluctuations (elasticity) of the substrate and is therefore subject to show wrinkle’s.
These can be lessened by using a damp (microwave heated) towel, which will cause the urethane to contract slightly. The foam, leather hide and its urethane covering are subjected to compression (the weight applied by people sitting on them) which causes them the stretch, which in turn produces creases (wrinkles). If they become excessive it may mean that the foam is compressed to the point it will no longer ‘rebound’ and should therefore be replaced 2. Pigmentation (Colour) Replacement - Certain areas of your vehicles leather interior like seats, upholstery, side mouldings and steering wheels inevitably start to show signs of wear, even if well taken care of, that spoil its overall impression. Often these imperfections are not serious and are simply colour that has worn off or light scratches in the leather surface which can be removed and will disappear with the right application technique and leather pigmentation. “Leather Pigmentation (Colour) Renovation” - http://www.autopia.org/forum/autopia...ml#post1479003 |

Thank you very much! I will try the heated towel method, although I think the crease might be too big to do anything. Same with the bolster wear unfortunately.
Any more suggestions are welcomed

Heated towel works OK, a clothing steamer works even better. Keep the steam a few inches away from the seat and massage the crease back to normal. This usually flattens the creases out.

Will have to try out a bottle of Spritz when I'm ready to order to keep that dash clean Extremely impressed with how well the previous owner took care of the car. 60k miles, 4 years, I'd expect a lot more wear. You should see the exterior, I only found 2 rock chips on the entire fron to the car!
