This is an X-pipe with its connecting pipes
I'm looking at the pictures now and I see an H crossover before the X crossover. Is that an actual exhaust crossover point or just a linkage point so that the pipes stay aligned?

Looks like all you pay a premium on is quality.... on a piece under your car that you never see. Way overpriced.

You believe those 3 pieces of Ti tubing are worth $3500??? The more I look at it I can't believe its $1000+ more than the Evo mid-pipe. I mean... less welds, 2 less high quality HRC, and 2 less resonators. Is the merge section different as well? Only thing I can image is they are producing a smaller volume so that in their minds makes it more valuable.

It really does just look like two tubes were cut along the side to form a merge point instead of an actual merge section being designed/fabricated to optimize flow and then welded on to the the straight pipes running to the headers. Is the location of the merge moved up closer to the tranny now that the cats were removed or is it in the same location as Evo?

FYI the akra evo x-pipe is manufactured by machine whereas the GT4 x-pipe is hand welded, equipment costs such as machine welders and hydroforming equipment are expensive but costs are spread across hundreds of motorcycles and automotive applications. The human element responsible for the GT4 does not enjoy the same division of costs making this x-pipe more expensive and also the exclusive nature of the product plays into the price as well

I'd love to get the GT4 pipes, but I just barely pass sound at Laguna Seca with the Evo and the GT4 would put me well over.

I was thinking it majorly had to do with the limited number produced. I'd be interested to know why these are hand welded and not machined considering the extreme accuracy and consistency of robotic welds.

Have you installed yours yet? I saw another member had one for sale for 2500 and you had yet to open your new one. For 1000k discount I know i'd try an take advantage of that deal Looking forward to your review and video clips.

I know man, I missed that used one! though I got a pretty good deal from IND for the new unit
I am still waiting for my car to arrive to have the system installed, it is an individual order so it may take a couple of months
