IPE Innotech Exhaust Owners: X-Pipe Question
I have the full catless F1 Innotech Exhaust system and was wondering if anyone tried other aftermarket x-pipes combined with the Innotech mufflers? I have a leak in my x-pipe and I am trying to debate whether I should try something like a Challenge Race x-pipe or other different configurations.
Any feedback and/or suggestions would be appreciated.

I paired it with a challenge sport x-pipe. was the best of both worlds - very deep at low RPM's and really high pitched at high RPM's. but then with the valves closed, it was as quiet or more quiet than stock.

I had the full F1 system on my E90. It sounded like a monster. Words can't describe how it sounds in person. It was extremely loud when the valves are open and it stinks quite a bit too. Anyway, I spoke to iPE on the low end torque issue. I got a custom build X pipe with 200 cell cats. I could feel the torque improved immediately. It sounded deeper, I would say - 25% in sound volume. The smell pretty much went away. I set the valve unit at 4000 RPM. The only mod I have is the exhaust system. After searching around, I would get the most out of it with a stage 2 tune. Which x pipe would perform better? F1 or my current x pipe? Thanks for any inputs!

The first X-pipe is just a normal IPE x-pipe with 2 cats welded on. I have no issues with torque on my IPE. The car pulls in every gear and I havent gotten a stage 2 tune yet but will. I would just keep the F-1 if I was you.

Looks like you have the regular iPE full setup. I didn't know it is catless Does your car stink? When I made the switch from F1 x pipe to a custom build iPE x pipe. ( made from iPE ) I felt the torque improved in lower RPM range right away. Perhaps your x pipe performs better than mine? The stink went away when I made the switch. I am thinking to get a stage 2 tune to maximise overall power gain. Which RPM do you set yours to open? Mine is set at 4k RPM. Thanks James

I've been thinking about getting the IPE axel back exhaust system and pairing it with the Challenge Race plus x pipe. I'm currently running bone stock and was looking to get an exhaust system.

I dont really notice any torque dips. It seems like I have more torque when the valves are closed though. The IPE F-1 exhaust/muffler is also different from my normal IPE. I think if you look into the outer exhaust tips on the F-1, 3/4 of it is blocked, all 4 of mine are regular wide open exhaust tips with just valves in 2. With that said id prob rather have the F-1 than my IPE just for the sound. Although mine turns heads everywhere and is crazy loud and F-1 like already. |

Nice! Sounds like you enjoy your exhaust nicely. I had the full F1 system. They only changed my X pipe and the sound changed dramatically. There are only two valves on my mufflers as well. Imagine these are the tips. OX XO X are where the valves are. I gotta say, the F1 really sounds amazing. It's really really just that crazy. I kinda of miss it. Downshift in D5 is absolutely crazy. I had a lot of fun. iPE are well known for their torque lost in open mode, that is why I set it at 4k. So I guess if you want F1 sound, just change the X pipe and you are set to go! Meanest and the loudest in your town I bet! Do you have a 6 speed?

I can ask them on Monday. Did you had the Eisenmann mufflers or the x pipe? I had the Akra Evo on the E90 and it droned badly from 1k ~ 3k and vibrated my rear windshield at cold start. ( maybe bad installation? ) The gains were very nice though. Did your Eisenmann drone? Our cars drone even in stock platform at 1900 ~ 2100 rpm. Both E90 and E92 has the same minor issue imo. So there's no surprise if other aftermarket system has drone in the " ghetto " area. Did you felt any gains with your Eisenmann?
