Thumbs up The M3 That Never Was [By Speedhunters]

I keep drooling all over this! Amazing work done to convert low end E91 to full blown M3. E90 fascia is a bonus too. Even has CIC Idrive and DCT tranny. Damn. As always great story and amazing shots by Speedhunters, enjoy:

Beautiful work. I agree wholeheartedly. I love my e91 but wish it had a little more oomph to it.

I've seen this build in the past and it's very well done.

That said, if I were to do this myself, I would prefer to do it 100% OEM and as stock as possible. OEM M3 wheels, shocks and struts, brakes, seats and interior trim, etc. Since it's making the car that BMW didn't, I would want it to be as faithful as possible to what would have come off BMW's assembly line.

How tough was reprogramming the ECU an all the modules? I am planning on doing this to my wagon.

Going to start with an E90 donor car so I can get all of the M3 interior just as you have done here. I assume you had the car almost completely stripped and did the same with the M3 and simply installed everything from the M3 into the E91? That would be my plan.

Yes mate, everything from the e90 M3 so all the ecu's/modules worked perfect just the odd bit of coding. 👊

This (still) rocks today.

Do you have extended warranty? Lol. What's the handling balance like with the extra weight over the back? Did you transplant the reinforcement trapezoidal frame to the bottom of the car?

Have any random BMW engineers actually called yet to ask for a drive?
