Anybody playing Risen?

I just got Risen a few days ago. Ive been playing it non stop. For those that dont know, its made by the Gothic series creators and follows that type of gameplay.

For a serious rpg fan, its amazing. Im definitely having a blast. Its a small game world, but theres so much packed into it.

Anybody else a rpg fan?

I enjoy RPG's but lately i've found myself getting into all these random stories that I see games having. I consider most of them to be of little significance and a bit shallow.

Not familiar with Risen though, or Gothic for that matter. Are these heavy text rpg games?

Gothic and Risen are serious rpgs. The entire world is open at the beginning, so you can easily walk to the most powerful creature in the game and die instantly. You have to slowly build up your stats.

If you enjoy rpgs then you should definitely play the Gothic series or just try Risen first. These aren't baby rpgs like Oblivion or something. These are deep complex rpgs. Their is lots of dialogue but your free to roam around and do what you want. Lots of reading and listening and figuring out the multipath quests.
