That's pretty much what you would get from DCU. You need to open a checking account and make direct deposit to account to get 1.24 rate which I don't think many people would do.

The calculator on DCU only goes up to $50k for auto. Is that all you can borrow?

I believe your whole salary. Or whatever you write down in the loan application. If they would take 500 deposit every month, I would have definitely done that

Really? That's odd, it let me do 70k but of course I didn't apply for that amount.

Interesting. I didn't try to apply but was playing with it in the auto loan calculator. Just looked again and only $50k. Guh.

Just found out that my CU is doing 84 months at 2.9%. With their credit card rewards however, I can do a 1% discount on the rate, so 84 months at 1.9%. With money that cheap, probably gonna refinance to 105% and just use the extra money to pay off other debt :P

Although the rate is listed as 2.49, you can lower it by having some kind of direct deposit with them. They have other incentives to lower it as well.

Credit unions are where you want to look. Their rates are usually quite low. I was able to get 1.49% for 60 months (I have good credit).

1.49% is less than the roughly 3% inflation we have, so I consider it free money.

Any credit unions that have under 2% without requiring you to do direct deposit with your salary?

DCU is nice but for 72 months it's 1.74% + .50% without qualifying direct deposit into a DCU checking account. Somewhat inconvenient if I live out of state. Looking to refinance at 2% or under hopefully.

well, I had penfed at 1.99 but they re-rate each month if your application is not closed. So, it just went to 2.49, which isn't enough for me to jump. I am trying DCU now at 1.24, hope that works!
