Great point you bring up, because on the e90s, I think it looks better clean, but on the e92s (that is what I have) I think it looks better with the small OEM spoiler.....

BAM.. that's exactly what happened to me, except the bastards took it... TWICE off my E46 M3. Looked the same. If you see any chipped paint on the corners it was def an attempted steal. Those things are easy to steal.

Sucks glad you got it fixed.

Sorry for your mishap bro. Im going with the botched theft attempt theory. Nothing pisses me off more than the A-HOLES out there going around doing this shit. You work so damn hard to keep your ride as perfect as can be, and then some sack of shit comes along and decides that they want it.
Damn there should be heavier punishments for this crap.
Anyways atleast you are getting it fixed for free.
Enjoy your awsome car :-)

Strange. A spoiler flying off at high speeds with a BMW adhesive doesn't sound right. Like Technic said, some asshole probably tried stealing it (who knows why said asshole needs an M3 spoiler).

Glad it is being taken care of on the house

I defo agree, as similar things have happened to a friend's car. I reckon somebody didn't complete the theft of your spoiler, but loosened it sufficiently for it to get blown-off by the wind/ at speed.

Yup, that is the definite consensus and what I think probably happened, but can't be proven, so dealer helped out rather than get in a pissing contest with the insurance company because no one would have been able to prove anything. It was on, I drove, it was no longer there......

I lost a gill @ 147 mph.
Kinda weird looking at the car during gas stop and seeing a couple of wires and plug hanging out of the side of your car.

I'd just go with the standard adhesive strip. It gives you (or future owners) a chance to change your mind if you ever do want to go aftermarket.

Evidence shows that someone ripped it off purposefully. No way did the breeze rip of the adhesive in chunks like that. You're lucky the dealership honored your warranty claim.

as others suggestions i highly doubt the spoiler came off on its own. most likely someone ripped it off. With that being said, I wouldn't recommend using something stronger than the 3m tape the dealer normally uses in case you want to upgrade to a different spoiler later on such as the performance spoiler. It will be a pita to take it off. A friend of mine had a spoiler on his e90 and it was attached using betalink and someone tried to steal it. Half of the spoiler broke off in the process and made a dent on his trunk lid. Good luck
