I think the new GTR is going to be amazing. It most likely will be my next car after the E90 (that and a mini cooper S as my daily).

The car hands down will eat the new M3 alive ... the unofficial timing of the car showed it 3 secs faster then the Porsche 911 Turbo on the "The Ring" and thats for the base model test car.

I also agree the term ricer is ignorant, annoying, and is wrongly used by way too many people.

Why would people spend over 60k for a Nissan, when you have options like M3, RS4, C63 and you get more class, style and quality?

different markets my friend, some like the brand, prestige, and are willing to make some compromises between luxury and performance. The GTR is straight performance, trust me. So theres a market for that as well. How bout spending a few HUNDRED thousand on a fully built racing edition Porsche, comes with NOTHING and is totally gutted, BUT......it will perform like a dream where it lacks amenities, but your still saying yea its a Porsche though. Gutted and striped race porsche and nissan gtr are for performance, the M3, RS4, C63 though devastatingly beautiful cars that I would take over any nissan GTR any day.......are compromises of luxury vs performance.

I see your point, but somehow I highly doubt the GTR is going to be much faster than the M3, RS4, C63 in stock form.

Soruces are already reporting and unoffical time of 3 sec faster then the Turbo 911 around "The Ring" ... thats def faster then the M3, RS4, and C63

When i see this car i can already see huge exhausts, a giant wing and ridiculous neon custom paint job on it.

I can't freaking wait. Very good chance it will be my next car after the 335. You people who are talking about class and quality do not, and never will have, any clue about REAL performance cars. This car will eat a regular 911 TT (much less an M car) alive, pull more attention than any silly BMW, and in general be one of the best performance buys of the decade. I'll take mine in black.

There are three trim levels:

- Base: $66,675 alloy wheels
- Black Edition: $68,580 forged wheels, black/red leather seats
- Premium Edition: $71,870, forged wheels, side airbags, Bose,

There are 6 exterior colors:

- Super Black
- Vibrant Red
- Pearl White (30k yen option)
- Titanium Grey
- Dark Metal Grey (according to a magazine, they will only produce 40 cars a month with this color)
- Ultimate Metal Silver (300k yen option)

There are 2 interior colors:

- Black edition only gets black
- Base and Premium can choose black or grey

Wheels and Tires:

- Base GT-R comes with unnamed alloys and Dunlop Sport tires
- Black and Premium editions come with Rays wheels and Bridgestone RE070s (run flat).

Other:

- The chassis code is CBA-R35
- Weight is ~1590 kg/3500 lbs
- Premium edition comes with a Thatcham class immobiliser and alarm (optional on the Base and Black Edition)
- Premium edition comes with a Bose sound system (optional on the Base and Black Edition)
- Premium edition has seat heater
- Side airbag system is optional on all 3 trims

Engine and Drivetrain:

- The engine designation is VR38DETT (Twin Turbocharged 3.8-liter V6)
- The engine performance of the 3 trims is the same
- There is no Manual transmission option

Optional:

- Titanium muffler (10 kg lighter)
- Anti-theft immobilizer 250,000 yen

For the JPN release there will be 160 high performance centers throughout Japan specialized in servicing the GT-R with GT-R specific mechanics (written in the preorder material).

I seriously hate when people say "why would you spend x amount for such and such?", whether it's about honda, toyota, nissan or any other marque.

I think you would benefit from reading more about the GTR and about cars in general.

The GTR is a hyper-performance car, not a luxury car. It eclipses all the cars you listed, and even out leagues cars which you wouldn't expect it to.
