However we have plenty of history, it's not like this is the first car with impressive results, Scott hit 10.6 in his VT625 awhile ago. Boosted E9X M3's have been performing very well for a long time and will continue to do so.
I spoke with the other owner (not Binh). that water tank they built is fantastic. It's 5 gallons and they fill it up with ice before the run. IAT suppression is what got them the 135 trap. Even with -1,400 DA, the ice tank kept IAT's from rising during the run.

The water tank even helps in street driving without ice as the water recirculates outside of the engine bay. The air to water system used by ESS and others are ok and based on the stock Mercedes components...but heatsoak quickly in racing conditions. Powerhaus has been tuning Mercedes for years and have lots of experience upgrading the Mercedes air to water system so naturally they improved the ESS system and viola a 135 trap. EAS used a similar design when they did their 162 1/2 mile trap.

Well said Adam, and other VT2-625's or Stage 2 M3's were trapping in the 156 range in the 1/2 at Shift-S3ctor that same day, so it makes sense.

Hey guys,

I have received a lot of skepticism (called out on a fake slip, not being on pump gas, etc) on the pass so I'll post some information.

The car is a 2008 M3 DCT. 40,000 miles.

-ESS VT2-625 base kit
-Stock fuel system
-Stock engine
-Stock rod bearings
-Stock transmission with GTS flash
-Our custom built ice tank
-Rear seat delete
-Recaro SPG XL's
-Voltphreaks VPH-750 Lithium Battery
-17" hoosier drag radial
-Gutted factory cats
-Challenge Street X-pipe
-Eisenmann Race Exhaust
-Custom Pullley
-93 octane only
-No meth
-No nitrous
-Powerhaus Performance tune
-Powerhaus Performance line lock kit
-New belt tensioner, smaller Porsche accessory belt, and new spark plugs.

I previously owned a 996tt and twin turbo cls55 amg. I bought the m3 last past summer because I have always been a BMW fan. I've enjoyed every minute of driving the car since acquiring it. ESS really did a great job of putting a well packaged kit together that is basically maintenance free. I've had an avus blue, dakar gelb II sedan, and cosmo black coupe technique tuning turbo in the past.

The DA was -1380 that day. Temps were a hair under 40. I had never made a pass in the car before. I never even really cared to drag race it but owning a performance shop I guess I just had to at some point. The tires were still brand new that day. I had a tough time getting the stickers off so I just decided to leave them on and try to burn them off in the box.

After making the first and only pass, I was extremely surprised at the slip. I was content and called it a day after that (wasn't feeling well and it was pretty cold out). I knew there was more in the 60' ft but decided to leave with nothing broken and with the record.

If you guys have any other questions just ask.

That all makes sense, appreciate the info, I'll update your entry in the database, the only thing is, I'd be a little hesitant to run 93 with that much boost, but regardless GREAT WORK all around!

Thanks. A lot of people have been saying that but we've tested it on the dyno and all parameters look good. I do have to admit that I am VERY particular with which station I get my fuel from. Its usually from the same one every time.

I've beaten on the car on the street a good amount and have done pulls to 180 mph with no problems yet ( see thread of me pulling a CGT on the highway) I almost want to put rods and pistons in the car with some dodson clutches and see where that takes me but again its not a drag car to me

Well 93 is miles better than 91. You should drop pistons and rods in there, fuel system, and you'll hit 9's at 140+ easily at ATCO. Not sure you'll need clutches, I've gone 20k miles on my VT3, with 660-710whp, no issues. Drag Racing, not so sure, I have not launched with setup, too lazy to do a line lock. Again very impressive results.

Congrats Binh. The ice tank does wonders...I've seen similar ones in action with fantastic results. That plus 10psi...wow must be a BEAST. With that low DA you should give a 60-130 a shot.

Mind letting us know what station you use for fueling (we also get 93 here in Texas)? I've been a stickler about only getting Chevron or Shell, but wondered if there is a better one even yet?

I use a shell by my house. Have been using it for the last 5 months with zero issues.

I can kinda see why some people called you out for not be on pump gas. They new you had to be running more boost than a stock 625 kit and the boost levels you are running on pump gas has always been thought as a big no-no. But I am glad you have found a way for it to work. Great time, congrats.

Thanks. There's a track rental on Thursday. I think a couple fast m3s are going out. Maybe the record will get taken once again.

Binh, congrats my man. Curious what size pulley are you using to get 10psi?

I presume you are starting with the standard 625 pulley system and dropping the blower pulley to something like 86mm?

The water tank even helps in street driving without ice as the water recirculates outside of the engine bay. The air to water system used by ESS and others are ok and based on the stock Mercedes components...but heatsoak quickly in racing conditions. Powerhaus has been tuning Mercedes for years and have lots of experience upgrading the Mercedes air to water system so naturally they improved the ESS system and viola a 135 trap. EAS used a similar design when they did their 162 1/2 mile trap.
Bingo!

I am more impressed with the ET than the trap. The car is very quick a 10.46.
