Let us know Alex, hopefully everything is working out well after your encounter with the psychotic bitch that should be in jail. Would love something that's not as bright as HID's and on the level of LEDs... Man, I keep looking at my 2011 E93 BMW OEM LED angel eyes and they are just stunning. Unreal. Very purple though, I'd put them somewhere in the 8K range perhaps. Would love something similar for my E92 M3

My headlights looked pretty similar before I had them replaced. The inner rings yellow a lot more than the outers as they were exposed to brighter light and higher temps from the HIDs.

Interesting thread, I know I wont be getting them now. Ive seen them in person and IMO they are too bright and just take away from the beauty of the halo. Its too darn bright that you cant even see that part. I love when I see the halo's on another bmw coming at me, its gorgeous!

Who makes those?
Edit: Nevermind, E92-lighting carries them: $359. That's the worst ripoff I've seen in a long time. Last edited by eclipsisNA; 11-21-2010 at 03:57 PM.. |

The inner ring on both my headlights has yellowed, and it's the Alpine HID kit.

I have a set of Lux H8 Angel Eyes, the best in the market imo! These are the batch that did not have any issues whatsoever! GUARANTEED! PM me for details!

for those people whose halos have yellowed, roughly how many miles have the cars been driven on with the HID angels assuming DRL is on the whole time...?

i may have finally found the reason for yellowing!
It seems as though the UV light output properties of the different manufacturers of bulbs may be the cause! My kit with ddm ballasts and bulbs were yellowing the rings quite quickly. Culprit? DDM bulbs give off a much higher percentage of UV light than other bulbs! Therefore dependent on the bulb manufacturer you have in your car you might get yellowing quickly or not at all. Check out these measurements comparing the different bulb manufacturers! The measurements are for h1 bulbs but similar measurements should apply for other bulbs.

they are about 100 bucks on ebay but this guy has already performed the tests. Whether the h1 tests correlate to the same h11 or h8 bulb im not sure.
http://www.hidplanet.com/forums/show...easureing-test http://www.hidplanet.com/forums/show...l=1#post371183 Morimoto 3five bulbs and catz seem to be the best choice. Now if we can find somewhere to rent a uv c tester.

this should be more of an issue for people who have 8000k bulbs than 6000k and 4300k bulbs would be the safest |

yea 4300k is the safest with morimoto being the bulb that produces the least amount of uv light, of course oem philips would be the best but since they dont make a h11 bulb we have to go aftermarket.
