Has OEM MPE been factory upgraded to fix the cracking issue ?
I have been wanting to get a new OEM Performance Exhaust forever but held back because of the cracking issue reported by many. Has the manufacturer made a fix for it ? And if so, how can one tell if a new part has the fix or not ( Serial Number # , Manufacturing date) ?
I know it carries a 2 yr warranty but i don't want it to crack after 3 years. Thanks guys |

Supposedly yes...see post #79 as well as a couple above and below it.
http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthr...=897377&page=4 There is a reinforcement indentation in the middle of each can. I think luckily almost anyone who has bought the MPE new and had subsequent issues (mine had a very slight rattle not noticeable while driving) has gotten replaced no questions asked. |

Just FYI - I have had mine for a year it is simply amazing. Truly a perfect match for the car (IMHO). Note that when first installed it is very quiet - it will get slightly louder over the first few 1000 miles. Cold start sounds incredible. Lower my windows every time I cold start the car.
You will be amazed at how nice rev matching downshifts sound. No problems with mine so far. I have no other mods. |

Just talked to the guy who bought my 2011 E92 ZCP that had the MPE changed about a year ago and the new one has cracked again and is being replaced by BMW.That would be #3 MPE on this car since new in 2011 & 77000 kms.
