New Bilstein EDC Shocks

Has anyone installed these? I am looking to use them with KW sleeve kit! I want to keep my EDC so upgrade to full coil over is out of the question. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

They are also listed at $500 ea for the front and $418 ea for the rear. That's $1,836 for a set of 4 so you might as well just go to coilovers or that much money. IMO, the functionality of the EDC isn't worth that much for an inferior product. I use my EDC button maybe 3-4 times a year.

It's still about 1/2 price of the OE units; folks looking for an alternative have at least an option.

Yep I am thinking of doing this with the Dinan Coilover system.

IMO, this seems like the perfect option for me since I don't track my car, therefore I don't need coil-overs, also I love the EDC, I always keep the car in soft mode for city driving and put it in medium or hard for highway and spirited drive, depending on the condition of the road! Also I think my OEM shocks are a bit tired, I've done 55000km on them with eibach springs so that probably accelerated their wear! I might order a set of these in a couple of months before Spring arrives!

@Alex please let us know once you get them installed and give us a review. I have contacted Bilstein in an attempt to get more info on the shocks and struts. We keep everyone posted on what I find out.

Thanks! I was going to send a note asking about the match of our comfort/normal/sport settings as a comparison.

Sure I'll write a review when/if I get them but I would've still like to ear a review from someone who has them before I buy them. But even if I don't I'll probably go with them anyway, I had Bilstein shocks on 4 of my cars before and never been disapointed by them so it's not too much of a risk!

Do your homework..... KW sleeve kit is horrible! Keep your EDC or go ohins.

I agree. OE Units are INSANELY priced but it is a 75k car brand new. Skip the sleeves and got with a full coilover system that is EDC compatible. There are alot of people on here with EDC cars with full coilover systems.

You mean compatible in the sense that the comfort/normal/sport activates and deactivates the shocks? I'll have to do some more research then, thanks, man.

I understand that some people are running a EDC no factory suspension but you are talking about $3,500. I'm not looking to drop that kind of money. I'm just looking for an improved suspension that will work well with the stock EDC.

To clarify- You can install coilovers on an EDC car but you lose EDC functionality. I agree that coilovers are a better option from a performance perspective.

Yea I understand that, I am just looking at improving the suspension but maintaining the factory EDC. That is why I was looking upgrading to these!

Still waiting on a reply about how compatible they are with the EDC and I also sent a email to Turner Motorsport to see if they have any additional info then what they had listed on their web site.

I'm putting these on my car Monday. Will report back with results! Turns out my oem front left strut/shock has a valve issue so its toast. 74.5k miles for anyone wondering how long it lasted.

Also, I emailed turner and they said these shocks are about 15% stiffer and will last the lifetime of the vehicle, with a lifetime defect warranty. How long that is I don't know

My Review: The Bilsteins are definitely stiffer and more stable, and still go through all the EDC modes. First impressions, right off the lift the care sat higher, maybe an half an inch to an inch? All I could think was "Holy gap!". The Internet says the struts should break in a bit more over the course of a month. If not, looking at you TC Kline sleeve over .

Performance: Ill start with Sport. It is slightly, but noticeably stiffer. The car feels more planted as I take turns harder and for some reason turning in feels smoother and in more control.

Normal: Also slightly stiffer, but with smoother characteristics compared to our OEM counter parts. To keep it simple its just a softer version of Sport, but still more relaxing.

Comfort: This is the real change. The floaty feeling from comfort is gone and the car feels much more planted to the ground. It absorbs bumps, etc very nicely, without bouncing the car up and down 3-5 times, only once, MAYBE twice if the bump is big enough. I want to say the struts are more reactive, staying stiffer when the road is smoother and adjusting. With my OEM, they were very soft, floaty, and would hop up and down constantly.
