Wind Noise
So I am getting a lot of wind noise or really buffeting (sp?) when I get going about 100 with the windows down. At Road Atlanta especially where I am hitting almost 150 its unbearable like ears are being cupped. And this is with my Stilo Helmet which is pretty much noise cancelling because of the ear cups. My guess is the air is getting trapped in the car and has no where to go once in from the windows, have to run with them down BTW. Any one have ideas or run into this issue? The first think that comes to mind is lexan quarter windows with slits in them like the GT3 cup cars.

On Porsche's, a small angled piece is added between the mirror and the body to stop this. I wonder if something similar can be done on the E92 M3?

I have the same problem with my E90 at 30+ MPH. I can't ever drive with the windows open.

I guess the motorized quarter windows on the e46 M3 did come in handy.

op, any mods forward of your front windows that could be messing with your aerodynamics? its odd that you're having such a problem, but others don't have any problem.
i have always thought about how [relatively] quiet my e92 is with both windows all the way down at freeway speeds. i don't have any mods up front besides the oem carbon splitters, but i doubt those have an effect as high as the windows.

the more I think about the problem it might be that since the car is gutted that the air is getting into he trunk space, where mose rear seat block off, and the additional volume of air was not accounted for when designing the car. So I might try blocking off the trunk space and see if that helps.

if it's a track only car I guess anything where wind can leave is a good thing. just drill holes into rear trunk lol.
