0-60 is always faster. It uses both hp and kinetic energy from wheel spin and flywheel speed. 5-60 takes away the benefits of awd, launch control and a good driver. Also shows any turbo lag that may not be seen with launching. For the gt3, it may not have awd but it does have a rear weight bias, which makes it amazing for launching with just 2 wheels...

Only if they have an allocation given to them by Porsche. Cars are sold out until the end of 2014; MY2014 and MY2015s. There may be another round allocated. Only dealers with strong 911 sales get cars. The dealer I bought my last GT3 from (2010) did not get one. I had a back up dealer. Had been on their list for over two years. They always get GT3s and were allocated a couple this round. Mine will arrive Q3 2014 as a MY2015.
Damn are you saying I have to put in a deposit and wait two years? Can i just put name on list?

I'd find a bigger dealer and get on a list now. Porsche may release more cars, there are always a few pool cars and someone may cancel.Worth the try, imo.

Although, I may miss the lack of a stick, I am confident I will gain appreciation in other areas; handling for sure, 9k red-line, super free revving engine, bam, bam 100ms shifts (sound great too) rapid fire rev matched, down-shifts, etc. Car looks utterly fantastic imo, better than my beautiful .2. Yes, some journalists say they miss the manual, who wouldn't but they almost all say you may not miss it much or for very long, as the new PDK, purposely built for the GT3, is amazing on AND off the track.
Well put, thank you. I might get a .2 GT3(M4, or old 964) but around march 2014 so that's why I am wondering, I was hoping they would have them at dealers in LA, but even knowing the manager at one seems like it won't make a difference.

What did your price come to at the end of the day if you don't mind me asking?

Of course;

$137k +/-

Carrera White with Black Full Leather Interior; dash, doors, rear compartment with deviated colored stitching, Nav, BT, Bi-Xenon Headlights, Auto Dimming Mirrors, Upgraded Stereo (SPP) ~ kind of funny and never used in a GT3 as the exhaust is music, but... nice to have, Red Seat Belts to match red calipers, 90L Fuel Tank and a few other goodies.

Dang, that's an awesomely equipped GT3. I love how they offer a larger fuel tank at no extra charge. My biggest quip about the E9x M3 (E6x M5 and M6's especially) was the really small gas tank (16 gallons) and my M3 only gets 14 MPG. I hate the trips to the gas stations much more than the cost of fuel. I'm going to the gas station every other day it seems...

Thanks.

This round Nav is a free option, however, if you do not select it, you will not get it. PDK-S free too, of course, because there is no alternative; lol, I think. So, I am only adding maybe $5000 in options. Full Leather is a must have.

Oh, I meant to say Dynamic Xenons above not just Xenons.

Fair price for an awesome sports car! I'd love to get one too - but can't get my hands on one and wife will probably give me a hard time about having two 911s.

Love those specs - those acceleration numbers are beyond the 997.2 Turbo and encroaching on 997.2 Turbo S figures!!! Crazy!!!

Great setup I would do something similar.

Why didn't you check the nav option?

Very true. I was number two on my dealers list and it's still an unsure proposition. The only way they get GT3 allocations is by selling 918s. Every 918 sale adds a GT3 to the dealers allocation. My dealer has one 918 sold(and that guy is taking the GT3 too). He has another 918 sale wavering. If he gets the second I'll get the GT3. Crossing fingers.

I am getting Nav for sure. I don't think the 5-6lbs will drop my lap times too much.

Yeah, I lol at those who chose their GT3's without NAV. It can't be more than three lbs that it adds to the car's weight. Just don't eat heavy the day before going to the track, lol. That'll save more weight than going without Nav (which is a must-have in a modern car).

As crazy as it sounds, that's not bad at all. I test drove a fully loaded C4S with a 119k price tag. What's an extra $20k for a GT3? Totally worth it haha.

Surprised non of the Corvette fanboys have jumped all over this and say this car is overpriced.

Hmm...$140K decently optioned GT3 v/s $80k (estimate) for a ZO6 that will blow the doors off the GT3 on or off the track. Not to mention, the tremendous aftermarket support, low maintenance costs that Corvette owners enjoy.

For all the talk of GT3 lap times, ever check out this page?
