So we have to change the pipe to Supersprint X-pipe and the exhaust to Eisenmann Race in order to get that sound? How much is that going to cost? Will this do any damage to the car?

There will be no damage done to the car. We did not bypass the Primary catalytic converters. Also there is no need to purchase the Supersprint X-pipe. Any muffler shop could remove your secondary cats and resonators and replace them with straight pipes (for much cheaper).

Hey Nate, if I want this setup and if I got to Fusion Autowerks Inc. in City of Industry what should I tell them? I got to change the exhaust to Eisenmann Race and the pipe to Supersprint X-pipe or something else? Will Supersprint X-pipe be better quality or not really? What cost should I be expecting? Thanks...

If you go to Fusion install the Eisenmann Race performance and ask them to remove the Secondary cats and Resonators. To be honest the SS X-pipes was not worth the money. I have always been a fan of SS but I was truly shocked with the quality.

I love the sound. However I am also interested to see some DYNO numbers on these upgrades. Is there a gain?

I'm curious on this as well. More importantly, I also would like to confirm that there isn't a LOSS.

Why don't any other exhaust companies offer this kind of information? I would like to see the valve of backpressure for SS, AA and the new Rouge exhaust.

SPORT-Version:

moving vehicle = 75 db
stationary vehicle = 92 db at 6.225 1/min
value of backpressure = -25%
weight of the muffler = apr. 21 kg

RACE-Version:

moving vehicle = apr. 95 db
stationary vehicle = apr. 102 db at 6.225 1/min
value of backpressure = apr. -32%
weight of the muffler = apr. 21 kg

Please note these values are always depending on external circumstances as feg. barometric pressure, outside temperature, abrasion of the pre silencers, abrasion of the cat-converter, etc....

Dyno graphs are not commonly used in the exhaust business, and here's why:

Dyno measurements can vary substantially depending on barometric pressure, operating temperature of car, outside temperature, humidity, and many other conditions. In addition to all this, the biggest challenge to overcome when working with Dyno measurements is the percent error inherently present between individual runs even when all other conditions are static.

For the E92 M3, a 10hp gain (more than realistic for a typical aftermarket exhaust system), is only a 2% gain! When dyno readouts can vary by as much as 5-10% from run to run, it's not even remotely possible to give any kind of repeatable, honest data on horsepower output.

One of the few repeatable, honest measures of an exhaust system's performance is it's effect on overall system backpressure, which is readily published by Eisenmann for every system they manufacture. You'll find that most other manufacturers do not publish this information.

M3Baller already posted the data for us, so thanks.

So instead of giving what the customer wants you tell us what we SHOULD want. That's great business! Despite the inherent flaws in dynos it wouldn't kill you to do a baseline and one with a custom exhaust. With the price we have to pay for these things it's not completely outrageous to ask for a dyno, is it? A lot of mods people do add up here and there, the fact that you think that even a 2% improvement is neglibible enough to wave off potential customers is a dumb move.
