I think the counter argument would be that with a header specific tune, the gains would be greater. Maybe not several times as great, but perhaps 50% to 100% better, if you want to bother spending $1000 to have a tuner play around on a dyno for a few more rwhp and lbs tq. If you spent $2000 for headers that add 8 rwhp and 5 lbs rwtq, then a $1000 tune that adds another 4 rwhp and 2.5 lbs tq would be the same power per dollar value. These mods are beyond my budget, but I like reading about them and the forum is learning. I am more curious about Schrick cams.

BMW didn't leave much on the table when it came to header design. They really are some of the best headers I've ever seen on any production car.

Next is a header specific tune then save up for cams.
