Found a 09 M3 need some opinions please!

Here is the deal.. I wasnt planning to pick up an M3 until about Spring time... I have a friend who works at a dealership and told me they have this M3 that has been sitting there since September, and they would love to get rid of it. I should be able to get an excellent deal on it.

The options list:

09 M3 Coupe
Alpine White/Fox Red (non-extended)
Carbon Roof
Navigation
Ipod/usb
6MT

The car is exactly what I have my heart set on, its the only color combo I would take (AW/FR/CF ROOF). Only thing is, it is missing 2 options I would of liked, which are Carbon leather trim and heated seats.

Carbon trim I love and will end up retrofitting later, unless I find an excellent quality true CF interior kit.

As for the seats, I can honestly say I dont like heated seats. This car will NOT be on the road when it snows or whenever there is left over salt/snow around. (I live in NY). It should be a no brainer but I feel like the car *should* have heated seats. I rarely ever used the heated seats in my other cars... I'm buggin, someone slap me.

I would of liked the oem 19s for now, because I dont plan to buy wheels until at least a year after ownership. But I can live without them because I am getting either 20" BBS LMs, 20" RD RS2s, or maybe 19" Volk TE37.

I dont care for premium as I think its a waste, or any other options really. I wouldnt get the tech package because I dont want EDC (plan to do coilovers and dont need the hassle of dealing with EDC errors etc).

So my question is do you guys think I should jump on this? Now would be a good time to buy before spring hits and people start wanting these cars even more. What should I offer for this car? I am thinking 500$ over invoice. Does anyone know what invoice would be for this car? MSRP is 62,125$. I plan to do a finance @ 60 months.

I have the carbon leather which I love but I saw a post with real cf and I was wishing I would have saved my money. The heated seats are great but if you wouldn't use them what the heck. I'd hook up.

I would go for it if it's an 09. If it's an 08 then I'd ask for 1-2k under invoice.

M3 should have been a 5.0L engine. For a 4.0L V8 though it does pretty good.
It is the high water mark of naturally aspirated engines. Still a 500HP 5.0L would have been "da bomb". I hate the sounds FI engines make. Sound like frantic alley cats to me. Just annoying noise. I love the mechanical marvel of a high horsepower NA engine. That is why I love the M3, C63 and Z06 so much.

Frankie...if it's what you want overall and it's an 09, then go for it man. Sounds like it could be an 08 though. Lack of heated seats isn't a reason to NOT get it, especially if you admit you rarely use them. If MRSP is 62 and change, figure invoice to be close to 58k. If it's an 09, you should be able to get it for maybe $1k above invoice or so.

Didn't you want FR extended though?

Sounds good. You can always get your trim wrapped for the carbon look. If the heated seats aren't a big deal to you, go for it!

You can just swap out the interior trim no problem, maybe even get them to do it. Looks like it was meant for you. Go for it!

Check out the pricing and ordering section for what ordered 09s are going for. You may be able to get exactly the configuration you want close to the range of your target over invoice.

Tell the dealer you will buy it AT invoice IF they swap to the cf trim for you. It's bad out there.

5.0 probably would have added too much weight to the front end.

did you ever have the opportunity to watch a live F1 race ? im a big fan, went last season to Montreal, Canada for the race...and never in a million years could i have imagined a sound like that...i guess if i had to describe it, its like a fighter jet flying buy. TV certainly does it no justice. if you havent had the chance, i would def recommend attending a race either way, its a shame the "Grand Prix du Canada" isn't in the 2009 line-up...any F1 fans know the reason why ?

Its a 09 guys.... going to the dealer tomorrow to talk numbers. Honestly, I eventually want to do the bmw performance front seats, and have the rear seats unstiched and done in alcantera. So heated front seats wont matter after all... Now i have an even bigger excuse to do the interior over lol I may just jump on it...

And chris I didnt care for extended, its nice but not a biggie to me.

Manny, cant wait for the shoot... gotta get chris to come out too

Do it frankie! Once yor start driving the car, you'll forget about the trim and not having the heated seats. Knowing you, you'll swap out the trim and seats anyways so might as well save your money and put it towards mods later. Good luck!

Do it - trim and heated seats are pretty much meaningless when you got a world-class ride.

Frankie my car is an 08 but spec'd exactly like that one except it has Carbon Fiber Leather. If you have brushed aluminum I would consider a trade?

Be careful. Probably has a ton of HARD demo miles on it. Lots of 8400rpm blast on a cold motor. Make them throw in the extended warranty!
