Comfort Access Key - Finicky

I don't know if anyone else is having this problem, but both of my keys are very finicky when it comes to unlocking the doors or trunks. My lexus was a no brainer... walk to door/trunk, pull handle... it opens...

but with the BMW, it takes several tries, or sometimes, I get frustrated and just press the button like I'm supposed to on the key itself. Is there a problem with my car/keys?

Mine sometimes doesn't detect the stupid key, and have to wave it in front of the dash . And same with unlocking the car by touching the handle. As far as the range of the buttons, they have worked fine when CA didn't.

The trunk key has a delay, like most cars. You need to press it down for a second or so. I always use the button though.

I noticed that if i keep my keys in the same pocket as my cell it interferes with the key/car signal.

Do you have tinted windows? If so......

Weird - I've had the opposite experience. My X5 works like a charm and the M3 sometimes ignores me.

Cell phone and Bank Cards with RFID (paypass?) does the same for me. If i keep the key separate from those signal generating devices it works fine for me.

BTW, when I wash my car and I have the keys close by, the water constantly locks and unlocks the car hahaha

Mine's been finicky from day 1. I would say my success rate on the first try is around 30%. When it's really bad I need to try multiple times or even take out the key from my pocket for the car to detect it. I often just use the button on the key fob to save myself from the frustration.

The buttons on the actual key fob work fine.. it's the comfort access (key in pocket and walking to the door) that doesn't work too well.

My friend can have his keys on the windshield and the car still unlocks...

I do have Huper Optik window tint on the car, but it's been like this since day 1 and the stealership can't figure it out either...
