These wheels ok for TPMS install?
Long story short: got me new 18x8 ET20 M-Replicas for my M3's winter set and wanted to make sure this wheel is ok for TPMS sensors. From what I have managed to read from the internets it looks like they are ok but I was wondering if there are any gurus here that could confirm this.
I'll propably have to get the TPMS sensors from the local BMW stealer for some stupid amount of money (they want around 4k Euros for winter wheel + tire set ) so before I give them my money for the sensors I want to be sure I'm able to use them. As for local tire/wheel vendors, they are just too happy to be installing those 170s on your average cars (a few of them promised to call me back to tell me "we'll check if we can find wheels for you", have heard back from none of them), but I managed to find a set of these for quite reasonable money. |

by the way, are you sure you have TPMS sensors? US cars have it, but Canadian spec M3s dont have actual TPMS. Its a different system for the Canadian spec cars.
Does your OEM look like this ?

My sincere thanks slammed. Getting sensible winter wheel/tire setup has so much work that my pessimism is starting to take over. |

there you go man, no need for TPMS. My car always has pressure monitoring systems, but its not on the rims. Your welcome, I made the same mistake when I bought my 20" 360 Forged wheels, I thought I needed the additional sensors too. Spent $300 bucks for nothing!! Glad I could save you the headache and the $$$

Yeah the non US cars use the wheel speed sensors to sense when the tire is low on air as the diameter of the wheel/tire will be reduced thus causing a higher wheel speed. I think the TPMS sensors are mandatory in the US now instead of just wheel speed like the E46 M3.
