Yeah, loyalty is important especially if it's a friend you can trust. My dealer was able to "borrow" my allocation, so fingers crossed they can work this for you too!

Well, got a call from the manager and he stole an allocation from another dealer so I am happy about that. What I'm not happy about is that the confirmed production date says "2012/04/16". Anything they can do to speed that up??

Not unless allocations ahead of you fall out of production and yours gets moved up in the waiting line. The only other option is for them to swap for an earlier allocation, but what they gave you is probably what they could find.

Just got this email, don't know what to do. Anyone got any advice? Car was suppose to start production in March. The delay could be more or less than 4 weeks, but still annoyed with the news.

"We have just been notified that M3 production has been delayed approximately 4 weeks.
I wanted to let you know right away.
This is a production delay.
I’m afraid there is nothing to do but wait for them to build the car and ship it to us.
Nick and I will keep you in the loop as we get any further information."

Dear Lord, if I get that e-mail, it's over... Sorry to hear this.

Mine was originally scheduled for December.
Then the third week of January.
Then the first week of February.
And now the first week of March.

Just that they're experiencing production delays. Someone mentioned earlier it may be the result of the new 3-Series, but who knows...

If that's true then German engineering must be questioned... because they can't even manage a calendar ha

Maybe its due to the 500 limited edition M3s going to the UK in March?

ordered 12/28.
received production number 1/13
po signed 2/27
started production 3/2 6:29am

was getting worried originally sched for pw 11 just barely 14 days before delivery so I guess it started production couple weeks early. maybe all the other delays are due to high demand of eds from when we thought m3 would stop producrion in june.

So you had a later production date, and still got your car produced before mine... Sweet.

Just heard that "depending on the paint facility" my car should go into production in 10-14 days. Right...

I'm dealing with a pretty busy dealership. Your dealer may not have had an allocation but told you they did.

I put money down in Dec for ED beginning of May. Just a couple days ago I was contemplating canceling ED and seeing of we could get earlier production and get it sent over sooner. No dice. I've got the next allocation allotted to my dealership.

Oh well. ED it is.

That said the delays must be slaying you.

I'm ordering from BMW Boston so theres a lot of business there. I looked at the computer with my order and production number and I'm definitely scheduled for March production. I don't have a production date yet thought. I emailed my dealer and I switched to a PCD delivery (Whenever that is). He told me he is still hoping for the production to start in March and for a delivery in May... We'll see about that.

On a separate note. I am planning on making the ~900 mile drive home from the PCD. I've been reading a lot of the break in discussions already haha. Seems if I vary the RPMs and the loads I should be ok.
