Long-term durability of SMG/DCT transmissions?

Electrohydraulic clutch gearboxes have been available in various BMW applications since the mid-90s. So what's the consensus on the long-term reliability and durability of these systems, compared to manual and traditional automatic (torque converter) transmissions?
