My list of problems :(

Hey guys this is my first post to this forum..i unfortunately have some problems .. Let me first start by saying this isn't my first BMW, it's my third (e30,e46) now e93 m3 so I know what I got myself into.. Anyway my problems. Since I purchased the car about 6 months ago I noticed that if power is on or off I have no change in throttle response or anything. So I was wondering if it was just so little change i just couldn't notice ? Also my other issue is with the EDC .. Just like power it just doesn't make a difference on or off. I tried everything, going over speed bumps at different speeds with the different settings, looking at the caps under the hood .nothing! It's amazing to me that I spend 70K on a car and these things just don't work... My other problem is when i punch it in first gear around 6 or 7k rpms my car makes a really nasty screech noise. My dealer tells me there is absolutely nothing wrong with the car. Am I crazy? Can someone please shed some light on my problem !?

I hope you didn't spend 70k on an '09.

Yes, the power button engaged makes a noticeable difference in throttle response. With power button off, shift up to 2nd, let the revs climb a bit (~4k), stay consistent on the throttle and hit the power button. You should feel it.

Ditto EDC. On a road with some uneven pavement you should absolutely sense a difference through the settings.

Nasty screech noises are never ok. Post a vid.

The power button has a very distinct difference. Right when you hit the button, the throttle response is felt. The car actually makes a little shiver (hard to describe) when I hit the button.

The DSC is less distinct. Definitely less body roll, but I feel it most in the steering input.

As suggested above, post a video. I've never heard a screech going to redline.

The power button is noticeable in my E92..... not sure if you would notice in the heavier E93 though.

In 2009 $70k was the going price for the car. Not sure what you are thinking.

I agree with the rest of what you said though.

This could mean he purchased the car six months ago or the problem started six months ago...

Yea my car had only 5 thousand miles on it when I go it and I purchased other things when I paid for the car..like the winter tires and rims (since its my daily) a dinan exhaust, and competition rims..

Anyway, the power thing is noticeable when I bring it up to 4k so that solves that.

EDC I just don't understand. I feel no difference no matter what

Currently trying to take a vid.

Power button - definitely notice change in throttle response.

EDC - I noticed a difference between comfort-normal-sport settings, especially in the sport setting because the damping is "fixed" on an '09 (unlike ZCP EDC where sport has adjustable damping).

I agree with FormulaMMM...hope you didn't spend $70k on a '09 six months ago...

Keep your foot constant on the gas and then press the power button and see if it picks up. If it doesn't, the button is broken, or there is a programming issue.

Maybe OP is in another country where 70K is reasonable for an '09. On mobile so it doesn't say where he is.

I dont think the money you spent on a set of wheels + snow tires, Dinan TB's, exhaust will make the EDC work better or make the "screech noise" go away.

So, after doing a bit of math here, and correct me if I'm wrong, but your car should still be under warranty. I'd take it back to a BMW dealership, have a technician hop in the car while you take him for a ride, and point out your issues. That's most likely your easiest way to get this resolved.
