+1

Alpine White, Jerez Black and Le Mans Blue are just amazing on these cars in person. All are great. All are pure win. I've had both AW and JzB and love both.

Transmission. The modern technology and fast shifts of DCT vs. the full involvement and fun of a proper manual. The M3 is not my DD and since my other vehicle is an automatic, I went with the fun of the 6sp.

Yep. Bit annoyed our new coach is benching him - Part of the reason we got booted out of Europa league this morning

I don't think an American should be telling an Aussie how to spell 'weather'.

But, back to the OP's question, it was exterior and interior colors.

I was joking. There is more different in the language between Americans, Brits, and Aussies than we might think though.

After LOTS of research, I knew I wanted the E92. And I knew my color and trim (IB/Bamboo/Carbon Leather), my transmission (M-DCT), my package (ZCP), sunshades, a sunroof, premium sound and Bluetooth and power seats (so I had to order the Premium Package 2). About the only thing I wish I had ordered was the alarm - and now it comes standard on the 2012s. But no regrets whatsoever - just a smile every day.

here's a first: fold down rear seats, i'm glad I didn't settle and found one with the cold weather package, didn't want heat seats, but once I started using it, I'm glad I made the choice!

I had to keep mine very lightly optioned as just getting into an M3 is a stretch, I was between Competition and Premium. I ended up going Competition, happy with my decision and i don't have the car yet lol.

18's or 19's since I was concerned about city driving. I'm glad I went with 19's but want to pick up 18's to use as a snow tire set.

Transmission. I still cant explain to my friends why I got the 6MT. Color. I loved the contrast of MR with carbon fiber roof but a forty something dude with a red sports car ? Kinda weak.

Ditto on transmission. I thought long and hard about the DCT. I drove both and was impressed with it. In the end my wife told me I was a p*ssy if I ordered a sports car with an automatic. She was right but I was also worried about long term maintenance cost with the DCT.

I was also on the fence as far as color. I was thinking an easier paint like white or silverstone but I am glad I got Jerez. It looks good for at least a half hour after I wash it.

For me, the transmission. It took me a long time to make the decision because I always loved MT (IMO... it's like being in full control). But in the end, I decided for DCT in case my wife drives it or in those horrible traffic situations, as well as the advangtage of keeping both hands on the steering wheel at all times. I'm glad I went for DCT... it's pretty awesome. No regrets.

Garage List
2012 BMW M3  [8.60]
Interior color ( that was easily rectified though once I found out the price for individual stitching ). Other then that, the only thing I really went back and forth on was surprisingly something that nobody has said yet... BMW apps. If anything I'd only be getting it for internet radio, I have little to no interest in emo diaries ( facebook ) so that wasn't really much incentive for the option, and for most that's it's main selling point.

Ultimately I decided to go for it, after reading what Apps would be capable of in the future and fear of regret if I didn't get it.

I had tons of conflicts with choosing this car. First was if I wanted a fully loaded e92 or stripped e90. Lease rates ended up being awesome so I went with fully loaded. Then I went back and forth between alpine white and mineral white. Found a mw m3 on a lit 40 miles away so I drove to check it out before I finalized my order and loved it (another reason I chose e92). Then there was dct vs 6spd, I had an e39 m5 at the time and the transmission was TERRIBLY notchy when cold, but I learned to live with it. Then I realized I would be commuting from oc to la often so I figured I'd give the dct a test drive and I was blown away. I did the pcd and driving the dct on the track made me realize I made the right choice, and it really completed the dual personality of the car.

Glad with my choices, but wish they had a full leather option on the m3. I miss the suede headliner and complete leather dash of my m5.

Nobody has mentioned it because it's such a trivial option... around $250 in Australia. If you're going to spend this much money and then have to actually worry about Apps wtf are you doing?

For me it was exterior and Interior colour. I liked Azurite Black but after seeing it in person, I went with Monte Carlo Blue and Rust Brown Interior. All other options (DCT, ZCP, Audiophile, etc.) were pretty straight forward.
