Questions about Best Tires and sizes

I need some advice for tire selection. I need new rear tires only and I like the stock tires that it came with (Michelin pilot sport) but I wanted to know if there is something better. I take the car to the track about 3-4 times per year. Does anybody run different brand tires front vs. back? Also what the widest tire I could go on the 220m rear wheels. Right now I have 265/35

Thanks

Jason

Michelin Super Sports or Yokohama AD08. SS are better for the street; AD08's will perform better on the track. Please do not under any circumstances run different tire brands (or tire models from the same brand) front and rear. Very bad idea. Tires are designed to run as a set.

You should be able to do 285 with no issues. 295 at your own risk

Jason with the OEM 9.5" width I wouldn't go beyond a 275/35/19 out back.

You are in Florida....so the PSS would be a great street tire for a number of reasons, particularly when it's wet outside.

But the PSS will break down quickly on a hot/dry track day. They melted on me once (it was 97deg F) and became very dangerous.

Thanks for all the info guys, it's really very helpful. So it looks like I will need to change all 4 tires if I want to change to the Pilot Super sports. If i go up to 275/35 on the rear should i go up to 255/35 on front?

Also has anybody had any experience with the PSS 30k mile warranty through Michelin?
How does it work when they see the tires wear out so fast?

Tire Rack recommended 255/35/19 front and 275/35/19 rear on the stock ZCP wheels in the Yokohama AD08s and I was very happy with them. I think it is correct to increase the front to 255 if you go 275 in the rear to keep the stagger consistent.

I would definitely go up to 255/35/19's in the front if you do 275/35/19 in the rear.

i would go ad08, rs-3, re-11 but all have limitations and will get greasy and possibly chunk in hotter temp with track use.
