Had this problem on my driver's door handle. Worst in cold weather.
Fixed it good by spraying a little bit of WD40 silicone lubricant into the hole where the handle slides into.

I am taking my car in next week to get this looked at along with replacing my aluminum trim on my dash that has a slight bubble in it....
I can live with these minor first year bugs because the car is so fun to drive |

JVfan mentioned somewhere that he had a metal part in his handles filed down, which is supposed to be done according to some service bulletin?

I had that same problem last month. just took it back to the dealer and let them handle it. I don't touch my car. Let dealer do everything thru warranty. But if you don/t care about that stuff just do what VISOR did. Just is some WD40 silicone lubricant.

I vaguely remember having this problem once in the thousands of times I've open/closed the door. Guess it's just a tolerance problem in a couple of small parts.

Haha... I have this problem, I guess I'm not the only one.
It actually stays stuck out on the driver's side so the door won't close until I push it back in. |

Yep..it was me and there is a service bulletin on it.....My driver's door started it and a month later the driver's rear...I think it has to do with use so eventually ...with enough wear...they all will do it. So I had the dealer do the remaining two proactively...before they were even doing it....

We had BMW take a look at it a few months ago, and it's been smooth ever since.

I am also experiencing this problem on all 4 doors. Particularly annoying because the doors will not close at the first attempt.
I will apply WD40 and if the problem persists chase it up under warranty. |

Same problem. I've justy gotten used to opening and jugging the handle back..I do it without thinking.
Real piss off is when you take other folks out in your car. They are like "Dude, nice ride...hey WTF...dude, your door is broken...POS car..." Not how I want them to react.... Time for some warranty work. |
