Homestead Track Day
So my new E90 had about 1800 miles finally and I was itching to take it to the track. Hooked on Driving had en event in Homestead on Saturday, so I managed to attend, and the it was a blast. I ran in the Intermediate Group and there we're lots of cars, maybe 25 or so on the track at once, so there was traffic from time to time.
Car is running on stock ZCP wheels/tires and stock brake pads/fluid. For being completely stock, except for Fabspeed/Dinan exhaust, the car performed amazingly well. The Active M3 was a full blow race car and that Z was supercharged. |

Awesome! Thanks for posting. Track looks like a blast.
I was aware of, and just missed this event... Was in the area until Friday the 2nd. If all goes according to plan, I'll attend the HOD event @ Homestead on the 31st of March. So the stock brakes held up then? |

Curious as well how the stock brakes held up. Nice video, thanks for sharing.

Yes the app uses the built in camera for recording the footage. You can then overlay the data. (it can learn the track, and also has a database of popular tracks). While it records the data for every lap, it only records video for every other lap though. I have a video vbox, but still use Harry's Laptimer from time to time. Its also easy to move to another car for someone else to use. Cheap too - I think the pro version is only $10-15. A few members have posted track day vids using this. You can check the track section if you want to try to find more |

Did you know the person in the 350Z? That can't be stock.

Yeah, I used Harry's Laptimer with the TomTom GPS cradle. Without the TomTom I sometimes got not so accurate lap times like 2 laps combined, etc. Definitively worth the $18 and like $65 for the TomTom cradle.
I don't know the owner of the Z car, but someone said it was supercharged and pushing like 450hp to the wheels. This Active M3 race car was pretty bad ass and quick. Last edited by SeeYaLater; 12-13-2011 at 08:02 PM.. |
